We’re not throwing whole meals into it or anything but it handles large things, whole vegetables, limes, lemons, just fine. We actually throw a lime in there every so often and turn on the garbage disposal because it makes the sink area smell better.

Even with the newer, upgraded version you are not supposed to shove it full of copious amounts of leftover food. You shouldn't shove whole vegetables, uneaten doordash, leftover pizza, burritos, plates of pasta, grease, leftover rice, etc... he literally just said he emptied his entire fridge in there.

You really should avoid putting any food in a garbage disposal. He's just too lazy to make an extra trip to the dump or compost it. Putting food down the drain will clog your pipes.

@@LanceLightning1985 He lives in a eco-friendly state/area so there's a limit to the trash the city will take from his trash can weekly [or every 2 weeks) so all excess trash accumulates at his house or he has to take it the the landfill - all that takeout probably takes up a bunch of space in the trash can

I was able to just fix mine after it jammed (I didn't know there was glass in the macerator at the time). They're super easy to remove, clear, and install. He puts in zero effort and expects his dents to both pay his wages and cover any extra expenditures. It's absolutely deplorable.

The problem, as far as I can gather, is that Renton, Washington only has garbage collection once EVERY OTHER WEEK. For comparison, most places have solid waste collection once or even TWICE a week. As a result, Phil tries to reduce the amount of food he has to throw out by putting as much as possible down the garbage disposal. Phil could apparently pay more for a larger capacity garbage can instead, but that would cut into his Hogan pulls. He could also choose to not live in some hippy dippy west coast state with restricted garbage pickups, since he can literally do his job from almost anywhere in the country, but Phil already put himself into massive credit card debt by moving out there in the first place.

It’s not hard to replace a garbage disposal. When I bought my house I didn’t have one. I had to wire it in, set up the switch and install it. Took me about an hour of work. All he had to do was go on KZfaq to search any multitude of DIY guys. Also a garbage disposal is the same thing as a waste disposal phil
