Fight them as shadow monkeys. Let them bunch up, then get them to synchronize their attack. Run in after and get 2 whacks in, then run away. With a dark sword, you should kill a monkey every rotation. If you have a friend with you, it's significantly easier. Have one person aggro all the shadow monkeys, and run around in circles. The monkeys will not drop aggro on that person, even if another person comes in and starts picking them off.

Bees, bees are hard to kite

Hi. what is movement prediction? I ask because I want to play DST but the latency from playing with other people means someone is unable to kite, which makes hounds a complete nightmare and really ruins the fun of the game for us.

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=669519286 it can be annoying because the game tries to compensate for lag. To deal with early houndwaves, kiting them isn't as important. Some armor can keep you safe (log armor, football helmet if you want.) later, try to get help from other mobs such as beefalo or pigs if you're really struggling. If the difference isn't too bad the person who can't kite can still probably get in one hit everytime. Chester can be used as bait for easier killing.

Thank you for this response! It's a bit sad that it'll force a delay in our actions but I would take that over phantom-range mobs any day.

If dogs are really a problem, just build an area covered in tooth traps. They wreck the dogs. Once the area is large enough, you just stand in the middle and let the dogs die. Every wave of dogs gives you a few more teeth to expand the area, or to repair broken traps. Its super easy.

He lost no hunger and didn't get hit by Bearger even though THE ARM WAS LITERALLY COVERING WILSON, most of this video is a good guide but DFly is nearly impossible to dodge if it's not staying still, has larvae to take up several phases, and this video is a hypothetical situation not an accurate one. He's fighting these bosses in an empty world with no other mobs at all and no starvation and always daytime. This is a good example on how to dodge them but not a good guide to how it would REALLY play out.

I edited some files to generate the world with no roads and used console commands to fill the map with one kind of turf and deleted every other entity on the world except for the player. The map is completely desolate and empty. The map can be downloaded and installed, and a few of my mates have done it. I might make a guide on the forums or wherever on how to install downloaded maps.

Whaat? I never have problems quiting bees... Just run until they're about to give up chasing you, then bait one to keep attacking you. From there just hit her, she'll be stunlocked. Tbh though there is pretty much no reason to even kill bees (unless you're playing Shipwrecked).

A single bee is easy: Stunlock.

If you have problems breaching the killerbee-hive "barrier" just remember to save a few lureplants early on. Approach the killerbee hive cluster, lure the bees around and plant the lureplant in the middle of the hive cluster. After a while, the plant will take care of the bees and you can just destroy the hives. Get back the lureplant, repeat elsewhere. Guess the laziest method, no special weapons or armor needed. Btw the bees have their own atrack animation, so can be kited too.

That's some pretty good kiting then. I overestimate the ranges of most of these guys. Got advice on what to do about the inevitable sanity loss (not what I care about) and Nightmare creatures (what I care about)?

for sanity loss there is the bee queen crown, and for nightmare creatures just kite them, trigger their hit, dodge it, then hit once, rinse and repeat.

+Coolkid5101 kiting the nightmares and whatnot is easy business, it's just that they're annoying and make it impossible to focus on the boss itself. Plus, I doubt I'll be able to kill the Bee Queen anytime soon as I am playing solo and with not much experience.

Pretty much everything in DST is about being prepared. I remember my first Spider Queen fight, it was insanely hard. But once you know how to handle it, it becomes cakewalk. I wouldn't use the night sword, it's way too much sanity drain especially on top of the insanity aura from the queen. The hambat is great for bossfights (and for everything really), as it has infinite durability. You can also use a tentacle spike (make sure to carry an extra spare one though). In addition to that, always carry healing salves as well as sanity restoring items on you, like taffy or green/blue mushrooms. (If you can find a green mushroom ring to settle near, it can be super handy.). Or you can carry lots of jerky on you, which restore both health and sanity. They're also your only sanity-restoring choice if you're Wigfrid. But I usually don't need them as Wigfrid as you can already restore sanity by killing spiders and stuff. Also, wearing a top hat / cat cap and dapper vest / floral shirt can help keep sanity topped up before fighting, but you probably already know that.

What makes them hard is the day/night cycle, fear of getting your camp wrecked, hunger, sanity, and temperature

For beef and koalaphant (both varieties) you do 5 hits and then leave, for werepig two hits then run and pigs just tank em with a log suit

The stronger bosses that dont spawn on their own and are more complex are the raid bosses. The underground mushroom one has 52500 health.

TheMikmas Bearger’s Stomp range is smaller that it really it for players, If you fight the Spider Queen before it has summoned any spiders and kill it fast enough, it’s easy.

Usually, Spider Queen has spider nests around the area, when you hit the Queen, the spiders come out to kill you. The Queen doesn't spawn them, its the nearby nests

Non-Raid are bosses that come every season and are generally pretty easy, Raid bosses are much harder and intended for multiple players to fight but have to be summoned in manually.
