DT360 (5.9L) DT466 (7.6L) Diesel. How Does It Fit In A 2007 F350?

International DT360 & DT466 use the same engine block. The DT 466 cylinder head is 2 inch taller. Can tell the difference between the 2 by the valve cover. DT360 has raised ridges on the valve cover, DT466 valve cover has indentations & no raised ridges. I fit A dt360 into a 2007 f350 with a 3" cab lift.

Apologies if this upsets anyone, but whilethe DT466 and DT360 share several parts, they most definitely do NOT share blocks. While I am not familiar with the NGD and E versions of the DT466 (1994-2004), I do know that the original DT466 blocks from the 70s until 1993 were several inches longer than the DT360 blocks.

Isn't it easier to put the body on the original truck? I have seen it done and they look awesome. You end up with 22.5 truck tires that stick out nicely.

Thought about it. Yes, would have been easier. Not sure what the DOT. would say about that. I think eventually would get fined. But maybe not?

I used to have a 78 Chev 4x4. There is enough room in there if put electric fans. I swapped out the automatic for a throttle body fuel injectected manual 5 speed. The gearing in the rear end of that truck was really low from stock I think. I drove it in forth some times because in 5th. gear the engine was turning little less than 2000rpm. little bit too low for a 350. But for a dt360 that would be pretty close to what is needed. The F350 I will have to change the gearing in the rear end. Think will try 3.54 to 1.

yah sorry, been busy couple months :). to compound I just crashed my smart car on the highway as well. A young lady drove accross the highway without stopping. Now I know a person can survive a high speed impact in a smart car. no broken bones just sore for last few days, I had seat belt padding, think that helped alot. That will probable be the next video. Will have a bunch more videos about the swap mid sept. Think thats the earliest when can get back to it. Thank you for the interest, I will try not let you down sir.

Dude i need my a/c lol but the nice thing is now you can buy kits for electric cars and it makes the ac all electric no pipes just wires at least the one i seen it was all under the dash on a square body chevy.. and as for the gauges why not just use the stock ford cluster mine is a 2008 6.4L power joke till at 89k she play power stroke and stroke to hard for the last time and blew her load out the side of the block lol i used all the stock sensors by just drilling and taping brass pipe plugs and Reducers some i taped directly in alum parts like alum. Air Intake horn used all but like 5 of the stock sensors was around 20 even used the stock pryo sensors makes it all look stock and i use a OBD2 edge reader/program(of course no programming with a manual motor lol) but set to see the pryo gauges and some gauge readings ya dont get on dash..i like it looks like stock truck but ran great and got 16mpg all the time empty loaded it didnt care i was always 16mpg and not one problem after the bugs was worked out i put 27k on it before a random guy offered me the right price. Now im doing another one dt360 this time instead of the dt466.. thanks for sharing

I put a N14 into a oilfield rig and used a engine controller for guages and mph. Have to program it and once I'm done I'll see where your at and I might be able to help you. Sounds like your Canadian, where's the hockey puck engine mounts?

Haha. hockey puck shortage this year, so trying to use them sparingly, Might have to use the actual engine mounts. The international gauge pod has ratio adjustments on the back of the pod. You can adjust by sliding the little switches over for different axle ratios & tires. I think I will mount the international gauge pod in the dash. I have a plastic welder & think should be able to make it look nice & be functional. Appologise for not posting more videos, I got really busy working on the house getting ready for inspection, I havent made it back to get the truck together yet but soon. I dont have alot of experiance with Cummins but I know a N14 is a pretty good engine if not the best. Is the engine controller from the N14 or is it another controller with all sensor inputs & it has a scanner gauge pod plugged into the obd port?

@@manbuilds1587 it's a Murphy product, it can easily run can engines (95+) or just manually put in sensors like I did for my 1992 N14. I might buy a can converter so I can see all the life data with putting extra sensors on it. It doesn't replace the ECU. Has to be programmed is the downside. I just posted a video that covers a little of it.

It's coming sir. Thank you for your patience & thank you for watching. I have alot of work ahead of fixing my truck. a youtube star yet, I am not :) havnt been able to pump out steady vids yet7. Working on it. I have to get to it soon because thats my only truck. Can only carry so much in a Smart car.

I am building a house same time, making sure passes inspection. & recent a young lady in a suv drove accross highway & I ran into her with the smart car at near 100km hr, no time to slow down or swerve. No broken bones but smart car is toast, luckily have another to drive with a little work :) . & I took delivery of a rv on payments so I could see my wife once & a while work on house & the Rv shop did some sub standard work so was dealing with that while on recovery. & pulled 4 broken wisdom teeth that were hurting. Been a busy end of aug-sept. The truck is high priority top of list, need for many pressing things before winter. just havent been able to get back to it. Anyway that was the hold up, didnt want you to think I was slacking. House is ready for inspection & I am almost fully recovered ready to get truck back on the road.

@@manbuilds1587 I can’t believe the amount of crap you’re going through. I sometimes give smart cars crap but after what happened to you I would be happy to own one. Sounds like you need to give yourself a vacation. I wouldn’t think you wouldn’t be working hard or slacking. Just keep going, things sound like they are on the up.
