What I'm wondering is, how did this guy (the singer) do this without tearing up? This song makes me tear up, man. I first heard this song on the radio in when I was 18, and this STILL makes me tear up.

My girlfriend made me listen to this, and I didn't make it past the first verse. I had to shut it down. She's a Vietnam war baby whose mother never loved her. She shoved her away every time she tried to show love to her. She went blind at the age of two, and had been adopted by an elderly woman who didn't want her to die as an infant. She made her way to the United States to find her dad, figuring that if her mom didn't love her, maybe her dad would. After 33 years of searching she found her father's side of the family. her father had died, but her family here loves her dearly! I just got a text from her cousin saying that she was bringing her all kinds of great food. She first heard this song when her ex had taken her children away and had taken them to Mexico. It was Christmas, and she was alone, crying and drinking alone at home.

My allergies get me too. Everytime I hear this song. Except for me it was my dad. He died 6 days before halloween 10 years ago and I hadn't seen him in 5 years before that because I was living in the west coast. Merry christmas bro and hope those allergies get better haha
