I love the simple styling because of the PERFECT lines the dress has. The bodice is fitted and structured SO smoothly and the way the skirt has such a nice bell shape MMM. I appreciate the simple styling because those lines are so, sO gorgeous.

Honestly, considering that people tend to wear crazy looks and sometimes "go too far" at the Met gala, I actually really like this look. Its a breath of fresh air for this event standards. Simple doesn't always means boring. EDIT: If you don't agree with what I wrote, it's ok, people can have different opinions. Ya'll don't have to be mad at me because I liked a simple and elegant look. And no, I don't think people are supposed to go to the Met gala with a stupid costume like Jared Leto, for example, but if you think that kind of look it's ok, than fine, this is just my opinion. I think that being on theme doesn't mean you have to wear a literal costume like it's Halloween, I see this as taking the easy and literal way (except for the year with the "notes on camp" theme). Think about Blake Lively and Rihanna, they are always on theme and with interesting looks, I think that's what the MET gala red carpet is about.

Not every outfit needs to be bombarded with extra elements to make it a good look. Dua looks gorgeous and allows for the beautifully made dress and the diamond speak for themselves. It’s extremely elegant.

I am so DONE with all of these long beachy waves red carpet events (especially the Met Gala!). If there is going to be a styling trend of ditching necklaces, I want it balanced out with some beautiful updos, hair jewelry or even hats! Dua would've looked great with the original fascinator and hairstyle and I don't think it would look dated at all.
