In this video, I discuss the album roll out and the build up to Dua Lipa's third studio album, Radical Optimism. A lot of fans noticed a difference in promotion compared to her previous albums, which caused a lot of conversation. Here is my take on it. Again, this is not hate towards Dua or anyone!
I do not own any video clips or photos used in the video. The use of the video clips and photos fall under fair use.

I just don't see Dua Lipa fading into the background like Katy, she has a too unique of a voice and she just doesn't pose as an it-girl, she REALLY is, anything she drops is a secure bop

She's dope, within a couple notes, just like it's always been. Now no one can complete a thought attempting to present criticism of her. "Oh perfect a preposition, I'll end my criticism here like I should and swear it's good."

Unproblematic & unbothered; debuting at no.1 on U.K. charts & projected no.2 debut in U.S. No flop detected

No one said it was a flop! But your girl doesn’t know the meaning of a full era. She called this psychedelics inspired album but what we got was the same repetitive songs. Now is it gonna do well?! Yes! But does it have staying power? NO! The debuts don’t mean shit if your gonna fall off in the 5 week. What she described as a new sound and era simply sounded like cuts from FUTURE NOSTALGIA. Y’all can’t tell me this is sooooooooooo different and unique from her previous works. What she’s explained is not what we got in the process. Changing your hair color and adding a louder base to your sound doesn’t mean it’s PSYCHEDELICS. Prisoner with Miley Cyrus sounds more psychedelics than anything she did in this album.

@@mickeyjean2895 its crazy that dua just said its a little bit psychedelic inspired…and yall interpreted that differently and expected something she didn’t even say. The entirety of RO doesn’t sound like cuts from FN yall need to get over that.

I will say one thing. Dua Lipa releases ONLY BOPS and the most important thing she is drama free. Unlike artists like taylor swift that teases an ex in every album just to get streams and go number 1. Dua Lipa just releases bangers with no drama, if people don't like her music then don't listen to it? Was the album perfect? No, Did she bamboozle as into thinking the album was going to be something else with the singles and interviews? Yes but the album wasn't bad, there are bangers in it, some songs I agree they were boring but the album had more highs than lows.

Say it again for the clowns in the BACK. And a big plus about her too is that she's not afraid to WORK her ass off at her craft - dancing. We just don't get artists like this anymore - it's all microwaveable TikTok bs.

I appreciate your view. It reminds me of what was said about Madonna in the 90's. As you all know, Dua is a huge Madonna fan. Regardless of what is ever portrayed about either artist; in the end, they eventually prove their detractors wrong. Still, I think posts such as this one are exciting. Keep the conversation going and enjoy the music.

Dua is a huge threat to a lot of singers cash flow. she is moving up the star chain fast. The music biz is a jungle but Dua is a fighter with solid roots.

Theres many reasons why this album is doing bad in streams, etc. The lack of performances is one thing but the singles rollout is one of the biggest. She dropped training season three months after houdini, which of course other artists did this before like Olivia Rodrigo, with deja vu coming 3 months after her big hit "Drivers License". But the difference is drivers license was the biggest song in the world, it needed air to breath. She should have dropped training season 2 months after, and done lots of performances for her songs. Similar to Tate Mcrae, thats why greedy and exes are still gaining lots of streams. Then illusion dropped as a 3rd single, terrible idea seeming the other singles weren't doing that much. But not to mention she decides not to drop the album till almost a month later, which was ridiculous. It should have been a week after, as hype was generated and could have been put into the album release. But the singles were bad anyway. I think the singles should have been Houdini, then These walls OR Falling Forever, then a good album drop with lots of promotion and performances. Music is more important to making a hit, of course, but promo sometimes is more important. If a song is REALLY good or an artist is just super popular it may not need alot of promo, like Espresso by sabrina carpenter or Fortnight by taylor swift. I hope she doesn't fall off from here but I fear her katy perrification may be here.

El problema para la industria monopolizada por EEUU es que Dua es británica, Sabrina y Taylor son de EEUU y la industria las favorecerá a ellas siempre. Y Dua es mucho más artista que Katy Perry, la comparación es absurda.

ummm no, she has had 2 succesful album eras yes, they are iconic, yes, but she's not at the next level and the number clearly agree, she doesn't have any songs in the top 100 of global spotify, Radical Optimism is already down to 9 million streams daily (yes, It's not a lot) she's still not completely stablished, 2 hit eras doesn't stablish your career, unfortunately, the gp and fans are yet to see what else can dua offer other than dance pop tracks

I was worried that I wouldn't like the album bc not only was it short but the singles were pretty bad. I only lliked Illusion. So when I heard End of an Era, These Walls, Happy For You, etc I genuinely LOST my mind. WHY didn't she pick those songs as singles? These Walls reminds me of Circles by Post Malone, which was a HUGE song, and it would've stood out and gone quite far IMO. And another thing that was brought up by other channels was the lack of worldbuilding for this era. It's supposed to be about radical optimism but in the videos it was dark clothes, darker aesthetic and it seemed disjointed. I didn't really understand what she was trying to communicate to us through the videos, promotional materials, etc. It just feels...confusing. I want a deluxe version. LOL. I think it could be turned around but it might be very challenging esp if she's not promoting it aggressively w/ interviews, performances, etc.
