This looks like a ton of fun! Would love to see more videos on how it can integrate with a DAW. I'm considering buying it for both fun jamming value, but also more serious production work. Eager to see more!

Great tutorial and an amazing little device, I need to grab one of these when I can afford it, showed off some features that showed me it's very powerful as a fun improvising tool/looper as it is a midi controller. I regret missing out on the kickstarter but I was in a really rough IRL situation at the time so couldn't viably back it at the time. Might try and see if I can make it work that I can afford one in time for my birthday. Looks like the perfect piece of music hardware for my budget needs and I'd honestly consider taking it over the Osmose or Linnstrument even if I could afford those. Love seeing devices that make music accessible to folks who might have barriers to getting into playing it, yet don't sacrifice complexity/musical expression for those who want it, as someone with disabilities but who has been a musician/composer/producer for 9 years I am kinda in both camps lol. Definitely can see why this nabbed that award last year. 💛

Normally I don't care about bundled software like this, but this app is actually pretty nice. It's useful having a simplistic scratchpad without a million knobs! Looking forward to being able to further customize the hardware settings.

Quick question: Can it go 'DAWless"? Does this need to be connected w the app/computer all the time to use w hardware synths or can it work stand-alone?
@dogma_JoАй бұрын
@@aopaul it works standalone too

Would love a tutorial video of how to configure Exquis with a hardware synth. The manual is a bit confusing and I can't figure out how to setup MPE mode.

In theory, if one memorized all the button combos and LED configurations, is Exquis fully functional without the app? I don't want to set up a laptop at my gigs.
@dualoinstrument5 ай бұрын
It is, there is a user manual with the color codes on dualo.com/en/welcome, and we are also thinking about writing the values (tempo on 3 digit, first 3 letters of the scales, etc.) directly on the hexagon matrix, for about a second

is it possible to color intervals, like the 5h in a different color?

Not yet, but that would be the case in a next update (complete customizable colors for scales and other mappings)

Can it act like daw controller? Can you assign one page for playing and other fo cc commands?
@dualoinstrument3 ай бұрын
It can act like any MIDI controller, but no specific commands (yet): in standalone (without our app), you have the 4 knobs and buttons sending regular CCs (values customizable very soon)
@d3tuned3782 ай бұрын
@@dualoinstrument oh good, i was just wondering why i couldnt assign CC's to those knobs. I plan to use it standalone, without a daw (except when I record audio) so I appreciate being able to map things for when it's NOT CONNECTED TO THE APP. Please tell me there will be an internal memory for different CC presets? One for each of my synths?
@dualoinstrumentАй бұрын
@@d3tuned378 We are working on allowing to create and store presets (note layout, CCs...) in memory, indeed :)

The device is a nice build quality, and this seems fun, but it's sadly far from intuitive, and the instructions are leaving a lot to be desired. I'm just using it to jam via MIDI at the moment, but the Z axis (I think) is being mapped to the filter on the softsynth I'm using.... so this must be a CC output.... can I find anything about changing this in the manual? Not at all. At the moment I cannot even find a 'hold' function for the arpeggiator!
@AUW-music5 ай бұрын
I'm going to add to this , its the X & Y axes that are causing the biggest headaches. The webpage says "All of these controls are reassignable at will, whether you’re using the Exquis app or any other app and software" But there is no such option on the app, and certainly nothing like this mentioned on the MIDI instruction PDF
