***** Saying that something is good over and over without explaining how is an excellent way to not be taken seriously. If this is good, then how exactly is it good? I am completely unable to reply to most comments, I am also unable to rate most comments, and many comments on videos aren't even showing ratings that they previously had. Also, I do not like Google+ and do not want to be forced to use it. Social networking websites are one of the most retarded things ever invented in human history.

***** You think this is organized? This is clustered and mixed with "share" comments, which I assure you will be the next hated comment-type. Instead of getting straight feedback from videos, we have to scroll through a bunch of stuff. Not to mention all comments aren't likeable/dislikable and how only 40% of comments are reply-able. This comment system is Very flawed. If KZfaq really wanted to change things, they should've taken more time in it.

the thing about the xbox 360 controller is the analog stick placement, it hurts my hands to play with it
@mftvgcinema

Me neither, that's why I'm wondering the fact so many people complains about it. And I completely agree with you on 360 controllers stick placement. The PS3 controller is way more comfortable controller to use. DS4 is even better, because of longer handles. Reminds me little the first analog controller on original PlayStation that I had, not the Dualshock one, the one that was a bit bigger and non-rubbery non-concave sticks.

The reason why the dualshock 3 triggers are like that is because Sony got too many complaints that the dualshock 2's triggers would get jammed in, thus they changed that design. I honestly like it.

PS3 Sixaxis had no rumble because the company that made rumble for Nintendo sue them, so they didnt have rumble until they won the demand and that is when they sell the Dualshock 3 with sixaxis
@mendyc158
@mendyc158 10 жыл бұрын
Yup, but it is kind of stupid since Nintendo rumble was an add on for the N64, and Sony create the dualshock (which uses 2 rumbles inside the controller), I think that is why the sue didnt proceed, it was kind of stupid. Even PS could sue Xbox or Nintendo since they later added the rumble to the controllers, no dual but still

Awesome review, though there's only one thing I'd want the DualShock 4 to have, that the XBO controller has, Rumble Vibrations for the L2/R2 buttons, which would be awesome! But all-in-all, Sony got the controller right. And they really ought to get that DS4+PS3 Compatibility right, it's a missed opportunity (I agree with you there).

I spoke with a Gamestop employee who as used both Dualshock 4 and X1 controllers and he said the X1's trigger feedback is nice but he liked the Dualshock 4's rumble a lot better. He noted that the Dualshock's rumble may not have focused feedback in the triggers but the rumble throughout the controller and its realism was superb.

I just recently bought a PS4, and from someone that has owned all consoles and absolutely hated the PS3 controller, the DS4 feels fucking awesome. It's so much more comfortable. The touchpad is awesome, I'm really digging the speaker, the triggers are near perfect, the grip on the bottom feels great, and the analog sticks are MUCH better(I really like the convex,concave combo, which I thought was weird, but they feel nice). I still prefer the feel of the Xbox controller personally, but the DS4 is great still.

***** Yes, it feels better to me. Plus, after using the DS4 for awhile, I've recently changed my mind about the battery. I prefer separate batteries after all the times I've had to charge while playing on my PS4. And the battery life in the DS4 controller is fucking awful.

***** Yes, it's on dim. Honestly, I have rechargeable batteries that I got for $15 and it came with 2 pairs(4 AA). I've had them for nearly a year and a half and they're still fine. I think it is well worth it, and it is worth avoiding the hassle of charging the controller all the time. Plus, like I said, the Xbox controller ultimately feels better to me either way.

***** I mean the speaker in the DS4 is only "so good," because to fit it in that tiny controller, obviously it's not going to have amazing quality. I prefer the XB1 controller because (ignoring the fact that I like a weighted controller and fits my hands; not to mention I'm just used to having my left finger higher than my right) with the whole "buying batteries" thing, Microsoft sells a Play & Charge kit for $24.99 USD. This sounds stupid but the thing is over time both the DS4 and the Play&Charge Kit's batteries will die. The thing is, though; the Play&Charge Kit will simply cost another $25, whereas a new DS4 $50.

I do agree that the xbox one controller is more comfortable; however the DS4 with xbox one thumbsticks is a beautiful way to mod the DS4 into being a bit more comfy. I am not a fan of the stock DS3 and DS4 thumbsticks.

@alleycatdevil
@alleycatdevil 9 жыл бұрын
If you don't use it then how is it a struggle? I have never, not even once, had a problem with the d-pad. I like the Xbox 360 controller better because the part you hold onto is VERY comfortable and it's easier to click the right stick to run (in most games)
@zyad48
@zyad48 9 жыл бұрын
WolfTrail2 despite the fucking shitty controller and like I said people think that because something is more comfortable it must be better well thats fucking bullshit. also the d-pad is really fucking shitty, I use d-pads for about 99% of my 2d games because its better than an analog stick for those types of games and the dualshock d-pad is great, the 360's was the shittiest d-pad I ever used next theres the analog sticks being shit in terms of control and also being very stiff among other control issues, most notably the analog sticks having a large deadzone thats VERY glaring in all games I play with the xbox 3shitty controller. the dualshock 3 fixes about all of my issues, the only problem I have with it is the triggers, but besides that I'll trade comfort-ability for a more functional controller. the dualshock 4 wrecks the xbox 3shitty controller with even better control, better triggers, better ergonomics to boot with an even BETTER d-pad
@drewcification

Sjono the rest of the xbox controller is great. the dpad doesnt ruin the WHOLE thing. i would use it over the Dualshock 3
@zyad48
@zyad48 9 жыл бұрын
Gamesaw Drew well then, the dualshock 3 has better controlling analog sticks, the sticks are more precise which leads to better control, the buttons dont require a shitload of force to push and the d-pad is much better. control wise the xbox 360 controller DOES NOT compare to the dualshock 3, ergonomics are NOT everything when it comes to a controller and saying this now as a PC gamer, I would use the dualshock 3 over a shitty 360 pad ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. oh and the sticks on the dualshock 3 have less deadzone and thats fact as no 360 controller that I have ever tried gave me as good results with its sticks as the dualshock 3

FlashySenap I have average size hands and no way this controller isn't too small, I cant fit all the fingers on the handles, there is no room for my little fingers :(. The thing is, the original ps1 controller didn't have that issue and I found it so much nicer to hold, but they didn't extend the handles when they added analogs.

Something not many people know is that there was a reason for the dualshock 3 buttons being "mushier." This is due to a feature that was rarely used. The buttons on the dualshock 3 were pressure sensative. Sony saw that nobody used this and got rid of it on the dualshock 3. I do, however remember games such as NFS pro street, (I know it was terrible but it was my 1st ps3 game that I got for Christmas) I would get excited and stressed trying to pass nearby cars. I would squeeze harder and It always seemed like I would go faster.

The word faeces is the plural of the Latin word fæx meaning "dregs". There is no singular form in the English language, making it a plurale tantum.[1] There are many colloquial terms for feces, of which some are considered profane (such as shit) while others (such as poo, poop, number two, deuce, doodoo, dookie, and doody) are not. Terms such as dung, scat, spoor and droppings are normally used to refer to non-human animal feces. Stool is a common term normally used in reference to human feces. For example, in medicine to diagnose the presence or absence of a medical condition, a stool sample is sometimes requested for testing purposes.[2] The term "stool" can also be used for that of non-human species. Ecology The cassowary disperses plant seeds via its feces. Earthworm feces aid in provision of minerals and plant nutrients in an accessible form. After an animal has digested eaten material, the remains of that material are expelled from its body as waste. Though it is lower in energy than the food it came from, feces may still contain a large amount of energy, often 50% of that of the original food.[3] This means that of all food eaten, a significant amount of energy remains for the decomposers of ecosystems. Many organisms feed on feces, from bacteria to fungi to insects such as dung beetles, which can sense odors from long distances.[4] Some may specialize in feces, while others may eat other foods as well. Feces serve not only as a basic food, but also a supplement to the usual diet of some animals. This is known as coprophagia, and occurs in various animal species such as young elephants eating their mother's feces to gain essential gut flora, or by other animals such as dogs, rabbits, and monkeys. Feces and urine, which reflect ultraviolet light, are important to raptors such as kestrels, which can locate their prey by their middens and territorial markers.[5] Seeds may also be found in feces. Animals that eat fruit are known as frugivores. The advantage for a plant in having fruit is that animals will eat the fruit and unknowingly disperse the seed in doing so. This mode of seed dispersal is highly successful, as seeds dispersed around the base of a plant are unlikely to succeed and are often subject to heavy predation. Provided the seed can withstand the pathway through the digestive system, it is not only likely to be far away from the parent plant, but is even provided with its own fertilizer. Organisms which subsist on dead organic matter or detritus are known as detritivores, and play an important role in ecosystems by recycling organic matter back into a simpler form which plants and other autotrophs may once again absorb. This cycling of matter is known as the biogeochemical cycle. To maintain nutrients in soil it is therefore important that feces return to the area from which they came, which is not always the case in human society where food may be transported from rural areas to urban populations and then feces disposed of into a river or sea. Human feces Main article: Human feces In humans, defecation may occur (depending on the individual and the circumstances) from once every two or three days to several times a day. Extensive hardening of the feces may cause prolonged interruption in the routine and is called constipation. Human fecal matter varies significantly in appearance, depending on diet and health. Normally it is semisolid, with a mucus coating. Its brown coloration comes from a combination of bile and bilirubin, which comes from dead red blood cells. In newborn babies, fecal matter is initially yellow/green after the meconium. This coloration comes from the presence of bile alone. In time, as the body starts expelling bilirubin from dead red blood cells, it acquires its familiar brown appearance, unless the baby is breast feeding, in which case it remains soft, pale yellowish, and not completely malodorous until the baby begins to eat significant amounts of other food. Throughout the life of an ordinary human, one may experience many types of feces. A "green" stool is from rapid transit of feces through the intestines (or the consumption of certain blue or green food dyes in quantity), and "clay-like" appearance to the feces is the result of a lack of bilirubin. Bile overload is very rare, and not a health threat. Problems as simple as serious diarrhea can cause blood in one's stool. Black stools caused by blood usually indicate a problem in the intestines (the black is digested blood), whereas red streaks of blood in stool are usually caused by bleeding in the rectum or anus. Food may sometimes make an appearance in the feces. Common undigested foods found in human feces are seeds, nuts, corn and beans, mainly because of their high dietary fiber content. Beets may turn feces different hues of red. Artificial food coloring in some processed foods such as highly colorful packaged breakfast cereals can also cause unusual feces coloring if eaten in sufficient quantities. Laboratory examination of feces, usually termed as stool examination or stool test, is done for the sake of diagnosis, for example, to detect presence of parasites such as pinworms and/or their eggs (ova) or to detect disease spreading bacteria. Odor The molecule hydrogen sulfide contributes to the smell of feces. The distinctive odor of feces is due to bacterial action. Gut flora produce compounds such as indole, skatole, and thiols (sulfur-containing compounds), as well as the inorganic gas hydrogen sulfide. These are the same compounds that are responsible for the odor of flatulence. Consumption of foods with spices may result in the spices being undigested and adding to the odor of feces. The perceived bad odor of feces has been hypothesized to be a deterrent for humans, as consuming or touching it may result in sickness or infection.[6] Human perception of the odor is a subjective matter; an animal that eats feces may be attracted to their odor. Pets Sign ordering owners to clean up after pets, Houston, Texas, 2011 Waste container in London, England, 1974 Pets can be trained to use litter boxes or wait to be allowed outside and defecate there. Training can be done in several ways, especially dependent on species. An example is crate training for dogs. Several companies market carpet cleaning products aimed at pet owners. Uses Human feces See also: Humanure Human feces may be used as fertilizer in the form of biosolids (treated sewage sludge). The feces of animals are often used as fertilizer; see manure and guano. Other uses See also: Fewmets and Kumalak Pet waste station at government building Some animal feces, especially those of camel, bison and cattle, are used as fuel when dried out.[7] Animal dung, besides being used as fuel, is occasionally used as a cement to make adobe mudbrick huts[8] or even in throwing sports such as cow pat throwing or camel dung throwing contests.[9] Kopi Luwak (pronounced [ˈkopi ˈlu.aʔ]), or Civet coffee, is coffee made from coffee berries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus). Dog feces were used in the tanning process of leather during the Victorian era. Collected dog feces were mixed with water to form a substance known as "bate". Enzymes in the dog feces helped to relax the fibrous structure of the hide before the final stages of tanning.[10] Social implications Feces have always been associated with the lowest people among society, the social outcasts, the pariahs, and the social discards. The Caste system in India was created along the lines of profession and the dalits (untouchables) were left to do work related to human emissions. They did such work as cleaning and picking feces from streets, cleaning toilets, and working with dead bodies. Such practices are prevalent even today in the rural and small villages of India. Animal feces Fresh bear scat showing a diet of apples Bear scat showing consumption of bin bags in garbage Horse feces The feces of animals often have special names. For example: Non-human animals generally - As bulk material - dung Individually - droppings Cattle - Bulk material - cow dung Individual droppings - cow pats, meadow muffins etc. Deer (and formerly other quarry animals) - fewmets. Wild carnivores - scat. Otter - spraint. Birds (individual) - droppings (also include urine as white crystals of uric acid). Seabirds or bats (large accumulations) - guano. Herbivorous insects, such as caterpillars and leaf beetles - frass. Earthworms, lugworms etc. - worm castings (feces extruded at ground surface). Feces when used as fertilizer (usually mixed with animal bedding and urine) - manure. Horses - horse manure, roadapple. Notice that the square and circle in the PS3 aren't the same length as the triangle and circle. The space in between aren't congruent, but on the PS4 the circle and square buttons are proportional to the distance of the triangle and circle.

I disagree with your last point. Quoted from wiki: "The Micro-USB connector was announced by the USB-IF on 4 January 2007. The Mini-A connector and the Mini-AB receptacle connector were deprecated on 23 May 2007. [..] The Micro plug design is rated for at least 10,000 connect-disconnect cycles, which is more than the Mini plug design [5,000]. It is also designed to reduce the mechanical wear on the device; instead the easier-to-replace cable is designed to bear the mechanical wear of connection and disconnection."

When you talk about the buttons being "mushier" on the PS3, it's because they're analogue. They were made so pressing it softer or harder would give a different response. A perfect example of this is in Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3. Pressing the square button softly makes you ready your weapon, pressing it hard made you squeeze the trigger. On the PS4, the buttons are digital, that's why they click more fluently.

IMO the best game pads I've ever used are the xbox360's & the PS4's. In contrast I think the xbox1 & PS3 controllers feel like tears & misery. The one & only gripe I have with my duelshock4 is the thumb stick rubber coating, the left stick has started to wear away & I've heard some other people are having the same issue, I'm planning to take the whole pad apart & swap the normal sticks out & replace them with some xbox360 sticks, then it'll be the perfect controller ever, of all time.

Every time I get a mini USB device it always wears out way before the micro USB. The problem with the mini connector is that it moves around too much in the plug; left and right, and that causes the metal port on devices to expand enough that the pins don't line up after a while. With micro USB it has two spring loaded clips that stop the connector from having the same problem. So I think micro USB was a good move.

Howso? The D-Pad is horrible, the bumbers weren't that great, the buttons were really mushy, and the sticks have a ton of dead zone. The DS4 improves on everything, including the DS3's great dead zone.

***** Stick placement is all just preferences. I can play with both but I prefer the symmetrical DS placement. The DS3 just needed bigger grips that pointed out straighter so your hands don't cramp up when holding the controller tightly. The DS3 is meant to be finger held so your palms never touch the grips. If your palms do touch the grips, your thumbs can't touch the sticks. The 360 controller was built from the ground up for sticks unlike the DS1-3, the grips are much better suited to allow for comfortable access of sticks and buttons. But, if you hold the DS3 in a different way, it's still comfortable, it's just not gonna rest tightly into your hands like a 360 controller. The DS4 pretty much improves on everything and it is the ultimate controller, I haven't felt the X1 controller yet, though. I'll probably still like the DS4 more, I prefer the symmetrical placement of the sticks.

zeuanimals Sony Worldwide Studios Product Planning boss Toshimasa Aoki said in a recent interview they originally tried making the DualShock 4 controller like the Xbox 360, but didn’t because the DualShock layout is in their DNA. “For the analog sticks, we did test having the analog sticks on top, since the Xbox has the left side on top [above the D-pad]. Especially from the shooter teams - we got feedback that that’s what they wanted. They knew that consumers liked the 360 for shooters.” nuff said!!!

Having used a PS2 controller for years (which is 90% identical to the PS3 controller), I can say that the Xbox 360's default is so much better just for the ergonomics of it as well as the functionality. That being said, I actually prefer my third-party controller over it. Not a Madcatz, because those are complete crap. I use a Power A, Airflo model. It has built in fans for your palms for when your hands start sweating. The buttons feel nice and solid and "clicky". The thumbsticks feel as great as the default 360's, but they last MUCH longer before they start going forward on their own (something that would happen for me after only a2 or 3 months of use with the default 360's). It is wired, which is a downside for some people, but it's an upside for me since then I don't have to worry about batteries and I don't sit very far away from my console anyway. And all this for a pricetag of $20. It's a steal!

I have had a similar thought about micro vs mini usb on many devices that don't require a smaller connector. However, after doing some research, you will find that the micro usb standard was deprecated for a very good reason. Mini usb cables have a specified life of 5000 insertions, and more importantly, will fail on the socket side. Micro usb was specifically designed to fail on the connector side, which means even if it does fail sooner, you won't need a new controller. That being said, it also has a life of 10000 cycles due to latches which hold the cable in rather than friction. This means that micro usb cables will continue to make good contact even after being slightly bent/deformed/abused. In my experience, I have broken the mini-usb cable on an old razr phone, but have never broken any of my micro-usb stuff.

Hey Rich, I fully agree with your "Big Flaw" the Mini/Micro wear down to easily. I would like to mention that the dual charger offered by Sony fixes that issue by not even using the micro port to charge the controller. Though to be fair it shouldn't weigh in on the quality of the controller, just thought it was the mention. Also the DS4 has a better weight and the texture of the controller doesn't feel as 'plastic' as the DS3. Just my 2 cents

GameSlimia i hope to god they let go of the previous generation consoles, its stupid that they didnt the moment that they released the PS4 and xbox one. I understand at least keeping stuff like servers running for multiplayer but as for new games, no, I dont want cross platform games anymore, make games ONLY for the current generation and DO NOT make them for the previous one, I'm glad Bethesda is doing that with Fallout 4(speaking of Bethesda BOOM 4 LOOKS FUCKING GORGEOUS!)

No disrespect Rich but for those of us who don't care how you look you gotta stop beating these douche's to the punch when talking about yourself. Your new videos as of late have been doing that. No cares that you have sausage fingers or that you're fat. If you don't like it change it. I subscribe to your videos because you bring valid points to the gaming community with intellect and relativity through reviews we are interested in. Last but not least you seem to be a real cool guy and gamer no matter what your age is. Keep up with that and I'll keep watching!

Rich, the reason for the six-axis controller at first and the lack of dual shock features is cause Sony & Microsoft were sued by Immersion (citing Immersion v. Sony), while Microsoft settled out of court and bought a 10% stake in the company. Sony and Immersion came to an agreement to "explore the inclusion of Immersion technology in PlayStation format products." Nintendo were not involved as their rumble tech is different and they have their own patents for it.

I still think the rumble triggers on the X1 controller will destroy the Dualshock 4.

Reason for the buttons being more clicky than mushy on the DS3 is the removal of Analog input on the face buttons for the DS4.

DailyGaming Honestly, the Dualshock feels too light, and I felt as though they tried too hard to make it compact. The Xbox 360 controller may be a little bigger, but it felt much more comfortable in my hands. But the Xbox One controller... They say they put millions into creating it, but its a total downgrade from the 360 controller. Dualshock3XboxOne controller

Xbox would be better if they didn't go "should we have comfortable analog sticks? Heck no! Let's put them in stupid positions" and then still don't change them on the Xbox one

i havnt had a PS3 for ages, but recently bought myself a PS4, and then got a good price on ps3 bundle so i can play some of the good ps3 games until some more ps4 games come out. but god, the DS4 feels soooo good compared to the DS3. the DS3 style controller was awesome when i was a kid, but as my hands have gotten bigger its feeling a bit small.

Hey Rich, the Xbone controller will have a micro-usb as well. If you don't like the one on the PS4 , on the bottom there's a secondary port that you can use to charge it if you fell like using the top one

cant believe he didnt mention how the triggers on the dualshock 3 arent linear in travel stiffness meaning for games where it requires alot of holding down or repetitive use it can cause hand fatigue

I'm mainly curious about the Steam controller, but I could tell when they first revealed the Dualshock 4 that it would be at least better than the Dualshock 3. Good to see that even you found it comfortable.

I also wish that the dualshock 3 would have had been redesigned with triggers at some point in the life cycle, they already did it once with adding the motors back in. The xbox controller even got a different dpad towards the end.

Hey Rich you should do a comparison of all 3 next gen consoles (Wii U, PS4, Xbox One) when you've played with them enough so you can tell us what's your favorite and least favorite next generation console.
