We walk our dogs in Stubbs everyday. Go down W Gaines St. The gray and white house is the oldest in Dublin on its original foundation. Built in 1873. It is next to the First Methodist Church. Stay on Bellevue...the prettiest homes are there. I live in Dublin and have for nearly 15 years. Behind the church next to the gray and white house is the oldest graveyard in Dublin. The earliest grave dates back to the early 1800s I believe.

Dr. King gave his first speech in Dublin, Georgia at the age of 15. He was participating in an Oratorical Contest at the First African Baptist Church. I’ve always heard of Dublin and I’ve been to the VA hospital a couple of times but I didn’t know the town was so beautiful. I give it a 10. It seems like a treasure trove of history and beautiful old homes. Dr. King was about 15 years old when he made that speech and I think it was for a statewide public speaking contest and he won. I like how y’all get so excited when you uncover a place for the first time, like a kid in a candy store lol. So cute.
