Congratulations on your new Ducati! I enjoyed your videos as you were wondering about how best to improve your Ducati Monster to fit your riding better. You did what I would do. Just get the bike that fits you best. For myself, I am not as tall as you, and the seat height of the Streetfighter would be a bit too high. My approach was to get a second Ducati! In my case, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and have wanted to do rides that take me farther than might be comfortable on the Monster Plus. So four weeks ago I added a Ducati Multistrada V2 S to my garage. I still enjoy my Monster Plus, but for rides up to Napa or over to the Pacific coast, the Multistrada V2 S is really awesome. And yet, when I get on the Monster for a quick ride of an hour or two, I am so happy about how fun and quick it is. I think your solution is terrific. (But please try not to say too many negative things about your old Monster...just so those of us who still ride the Monster won't be too put out!!) Looking forward to lots more videos of your life with the new Streetfighter V2!

Thanks for watching. Great comment. I agree 100% - if having two street bikes was in my cards I would have a Monster or Hypermotard for a city ripper and the Streetfighter for bombing freeways and twisties. For a second bike I am thinking about the Desert X or maybe the Norden 901. Next year!! In two months we will be under snow up here thinking about the next bike season. Cheers!

It will be interesting if u start to get annoyed by the lack of torque as compared to the Monster. I have 3 bikes with the 937 because it is so good on the street. I also have a Pikes Peak……your V2 comes alive after 8k but docile up to 8k

Thanks for watching. This is my second season on the V2 and I wouldn’t go back to the 937. The increase in power can’t be compared. I ride fast … pretty much all the time … and have a track day booked to wind it out. I’m riding a BMW R1250R this week with 144 torque so I am curious how that compares to the Monster and SFV2.

I too changed from the 937 to the SFV2. But now I am thinking of upgrading again! lol its been 20k on the SFV2

Thanks for watching! You made me laugh… I immediately maxed out at @ 260kph and thought, “I need the V4”. Haha I actually went to the SFV2 on purpose to not ride 300, but I have been thinking about a Panigale just for the aero, but first I need a Scrambler Desert Sled on the side. Ducati life is hard! Lol

Thanks for the video. I'm currently riding a 2020 xsr900 and curious about the ergos of the SFV2. I'm 6' and approx 210 lbs. I sat on a monster but dont really love the looks of the bike. I think the SF is absolutely beautiful.

Thanks for watching! If I had ridden the SFV2 before the Monster 937 I would have saved myself buying two bikes. I did another video about setting up my position and suspension to improve the ergos. The SF is by nature an aggressive angle but I adjusted the ride to my weight (just under 200lbs) to make it dive less on braking by stiffening the forks, tilted the handle bars forwards and I like how the SF stock setup sits higher than than the Monster even with a shorter wheel base. It is way more bike at 153hp … don’t bother going to the Monster if you ride fast. 👍🏼

Love my V2. Was buying the monster sp but changed my mind. So glad I did✌🏽

Good choice! I did exactly the same. The Monster SP was fun and snappy but not $4000 more so than my Monster Plus. The SPV2 is a no brainer at 153hp with adjustable suspension. I hoped the Super Sport 950 would come in a V2 with the relaxed position for long tours but personally I prefer the handle bars to the clip ons. The SFV2 is awesome!! … now about that missing gas gauge. Lol

i want to change my monster sp with a street fighter V2 but you have no say the most important aspect for me…the response ok the engine at low RPM because everybody says that the monster have a great torque at low rpm and i can confirm it but many says that the streetV2 has no torque at low rpm…what you say about this aspects of the two bikes?
@streetsandpeaks3013
@streetsandpeaks3013 3 ай бұрын
Good question! The Monster has great torque from 3500rpm but past 6000rpm it is really much better. Good torque for 112hp that is… the Streetfighter V2 is not made to roll at 3500rpm and doesn’t like school zones at 30kph … but over 6000rpm, with 153hp you can’t even compare these bikes. And the V2 from 9000 to 11000rpm is crazy fast!!! You also have far superior braking, steering damper is included, fully adjustable suspension and the quick shift is so much better!!! The V2 is a Panigale with no clothes!!! Haha Do it!! Unless of course you can’t live without a gas gauge. Don’t say no one told you there wasn’t a gas gauge. Thanks for watching!

@@streetsandpeaks3013Yes both are naked but there are big differences between this two bikes, my Monster SP has the stylema and break so well…moreover i think rationally that the torque of Monster is more exploitable on the road because the streetV2 become a beast after 7000rpm and on the road ia difficult go often at this rpm especially on the curves but is true that street V2 is awesome because is so beautiful and have the stability i think of a sports bike instead the monster is more a fun bike and less efficient in stability at high speed. Thank you because your answer is so accurate…i think i take my decision ✌️🙏

I have spent time on both the SFV4 and the V2. I own a Hyper SP, Desert X, 950SS and a Pikes Peak. That being said....all Ducatis are awesome but I think when people buy the Panigales and SF's they are not prepared for the lack of torque. Even the V2 needs to wound up before any power kicks in. The 937 engine is so much better on the street imho and when paired with the Ohlins it is hard to beat in any direction. I went for a ride with a buddy who just bought a SFV2 and I was on my Hyper. He spent the first hour of the ride making fun of the Hyper so we switched bikes. After 30 mins of riding we pulled over and he offered to buy it on the spot. The Hyper simply handles better, corners better, is just as stable at high speeds, has way more torque and honestly more fun in every way. Now on the track...the V2 would kick ass but how often do any of us ride track. I am glad this guy feels his decision was a good one but I imagine he will tire of having to rev the shit out of it to find power and I am talking above 8k before the fun starts and then you are out of road.

@@chrisvantassel8867 thank you for your answer and how you explained so well every aspect of this bike…at the end my decision is to buy a sfv4 because the lack of torque at low rpm of the v2 is not what i am searching…i think the engine of sfv2 is very good on track as you said but on the street there are metter solutions

@@Carl4Ride Enjoy the bike either way, there is no bad Ducati just the most appropriate for specific occasions. I have come close on many occasions to buying a SF. The current models are mapped for better torque compared to the first generation but I love torque so still not enough for me. To me, no other engine winds up better than the V2 and V4SF so if you can find the room and the road you will have great fun.......hopefully you can get on a track too! cheers!

For anyone without traack experience or fast riding skills- both are overkills. In fact anything with more than 50 hp is overkill

I agree. Any middleweight bike has far more performance than the average rider can safely use on the street.

50hp? Where do you live? Freeway speed limits here are 110kph and we have hundreds of miles of open roads. I would hate to be on a mountain pass trying to pass a row of RV’s with 50hp.

I’ve been riding almost 50 years and the Urban mode on the 937 at 70hp with every type of electronic safety control is a far safer bike than any low hp bike with no rider aids. Have you ridden a Monster 937? Maybe go try one.

@@streetsandpeaks3013 43 years for me and presently have a monster 796 and kawi 1000 and a 49HP V7 Racer- along with many other bikes in the past. The 80HP on the Monster is more than 99% of people need. In fact I outgun most of the riders in the curves with my 49 mouse squeak HP compared to their 100 -180HP….
