Really is. Years ago I was feeding a family or Sand Hill Cranes in our garage. The male would take a piece of bread right out of the palm of my hand lightning quick. then he would hand it to Mommy and Mommy would break it up and hand pieces to the 3 chicks. Repeat process until the entire loaf was gone. Only toward the end would Mommy and Daddy eat some bread they made certain that the babies were fed first. Sand Hills are awesome here in FL the species that lives here is native to the state they do not migrate so they're here year round.

@@cy4330 These animals have been around for millions of years, long before us. They know more than we give them credit for. You think the parents of those ducklings were just floating nearby for nothing? Everything in nature has a purpose and those parents were there, communicating with their babies, working it out. Just because we can't understand or hear this process, doesn't mean it's not happening. I've seen tons of situations like this where the ducklings eventually do what they have to do. That woman didn't allow the time for them build the courage and jump and robbed them of the lesson which was to do it themselves. A butterfly really has to struggle to get out of its cocoon but working it's way out of that cocoon is how it builds its strength to survive the long, arduous journey it needs to make. If you assist with its emergence, you're actually weakening it and thereby killing it. So yes, harm is potentially caused doing things like this. I wish people would actually respect the animals they claim to love so much by learning about them so they don't cause harm by their own ignorance.

@Crazynice6194 жыл бұрын
I don’t like to criticize good intent ever as this person had but must still say...Ducklings imprint on their mother. They don’t just run away. The initial jump is apprehensive for them. But they are wild animals. They figure it out. And need to learn on their own guided by their mother. How would you like it if you were jumping off a diving board your first time and a monster came to push you off? Just imagine that. It’s not comfortable for them. Besides these ducklings are super resilient. They jump off much higher elevations and onto concrete and still endure it. But the point is they learn it all on their own to adapt to the wild unlike domesticated animals.
