Hossam Aamer as an Israeli American with grandparents from morocco. This music took my breath away, it's incredible to witness this fusion of talent and culture during these times of horrifying war. The tragic war in Iraq makes this music all the more powerful. I hope this music ends up bridging gaps between people rather than fueling more hatred. May god bless and protect the people in Iraq, in Syria, in Israel and all over the world.

@Maytal Hason It's growing even more evocative to listen to such music amid all these wars in the Middle East, esp Iraq - a song by Jewish Kuwaiti-Iraqi brothers who fled their land to Israel, only for a grandson to rejuvenate their music back to blooming on another part of the planet. Among all those many dark chapters in our species's history, I believe the most gloomy are the ones that include mass expulsion. I consider myself somewhat fortunate not to experience or even witness anything of the exact like, but having even a cursory glance at just modern history and reading about many peoples exiled is just depressing. Many countries are now missing out on what it would have been in there in terms of cultural and ethnic diversity - outstanding mentions are Egypt expelling Jews, Italian, Armenians (during post-coup years); the Ottoman Empire exterminating more than 1 or 1.5 million Armenians round WWI, and a few others mostly taking place in the Middle East and the geo-political roundabouts, unfortunately.
