Even if you're doing something mind-blowingly different (which Duelyst is not), game fame is determined by marketing, not word-of-mouth. Duelyst's marketing has been pretty mediocre when there's dozens of F2P card games to compete with. This "launch trailer" doesn't even make sense as it already launched back in April 2016; according to facebook, it's just actually made for a partnership with Bandai Namco. Now you know how it's not famous.

but i'm saying that the game is good (in my opinion) , i never saw a tactical card game with so beautifull drawing style. I agree that the marketing it's not so good, but the game deserve more

It's trying to be too many things and failing. It wants to be tactical, but introduces RNG like Hearthstone. It wants to be casual, but many of its expansions are new player unfriendly. It can't even balance itself decently. Just look at how long it took to address ArcanFaie.

You guys just needed to work on Android version. Unfortunately it is too late. R.I.P Duelyst. Awesome game, with huge potential to be one of the best tactical games.

O would love to see more fighting scenes like these. Argeon, Zir'an, Sajj, Vaath, Kara, Reva and Starhorn could get one each hehe

you have to play 5 mechaz0r cards to even drop that. Minimum mana you need is 7. You also need to be lucky with draws to even get that to happen.

Matthieu Rhéaume Just seems that way from the trailer - think about the game as something like Hearthstone with a Fire Emblem board. Still strategy intensive and deck-centric

This game was really fun at first but it was poorly balanced and difficult for unintelligent people to get into. Also they had to constantly rebalance the game so that people would purchase their currency and buy more cards to build more comps. It was a really good game that played extremely well in its own unique fashion. I wish that this design would get picked up by another company and polish it even further but I doubt it would become extremely popular. Unfortunately over the last 3 years the most popular strategy games have become auto chess battlers and even those don't do well.

But most of the cards aren't overpowered and you can buy those orbs with gold you can earn from quests. Yeah I still don't like it but you can get those cards if you grind.

It must be hella hard being a new player right now. Most overpowered cards are hidden behind 300g packs forcing you to either grind till your eyes burn or pay 60$ for 3/4 sets

Most of the game is skillbased though. While true meta decks are slightly overall better people can still outplay anyone with any deck.

You fools that's true but I doubt that any new player with only a basic deck can win more than 40% of the time against any opponent with cards from the newer sets, assuming equal skill and understanding of the game. I pulled that number out of my ass but i reckon it's a good estimate of the amount of wins a new player gets.

you're gonna be waiting a long while then. having to pay for new expansions in CCG's as been modus operandi for over the twenty years I've been playing them. There are problems with the cash shop, and IMO a looming issue with the power creep. Coming into any CCG and expecting to be competitive and feature full (w/o an investment) is gonna net ya alot of frustration, and meet eye rolls and deaf ears in the forums. This is the case with other similar games. hearthstone, magic the gathering, elder scrolls legend, etc.
