Duf, I just got an LS2 Valiant modular helmet the other day and took my first ride with it. As an open face helmet it fit quite nicely and was comfortable enough. But I was surprised to find that when the chin bar is down, my chin directly touches the hard plastic of the guard to the point that if I try opening my mouth wide, it puts uncomfortable pressure on my chin and jaw and pulls at the entire helmet. I don't have an unusually prominent, jutting chin or odd shaped head, so I am wondering if this is normal?

I have not experienced that but if you are, I can understand why that would be annoying.

How do you keep the bugs out of your eyes without the windscreen? The dark shield works, sure, hopefully that. I have the black Advant with the Cardo and white Advant X, I love them, find myself using the black mostly, will add the Cardo to the white X as soon as I can afford it.

I never had a bug hit me in the face with just the sunshade down and Florida has bugs, lots of them!

I like a mirror on my helmet but I cannot get on with those small ones. I use one closer to 4" diameter, one designed for cycles (fits into the end of the handle bars), but I wear it on the helmet. The LS2 looks like a good buy, all bar the price, but you get what you pay for I guess 🙂

Good video. That inflatable "neck pillow" is not, in fact, a neck pillow, but rather an inflatable helmet rest to rest your helmet upon. 😁👍

Thought it was a neck guard - peventing over extension of the neck in an accident. The helmet will push against it and your shoulder helping to prenvent neck breaks. Cheers

Maybe the weight difference feel has somethhing to do with the scorpion having a peak and potentially making it feel more top/front heavy?

I tried this helmet at a shop and it felt really wide around my head. Definitely made for rounder shaped heads.

Helmet looks nice but if spending $300+ on a Helmet please get one with a higher rating than DOT approved. A Snell Approved is preferred or ECE approved at minimum. DOT approve any and almost everything. Can't lie some of the designs look cool, but it will cost you (injury) The difference between the Snell, ECE vs DOT approved can be a serious Concussion to brain damage vs No concussion or very mild one. Also DOT approve helmets that do not protect your face. Don't want to fall and hit your face in one of those. Ouch!

LS2 are good protection from what I have read at a reasonable price. (M/C helmet reviews) edit : Valiant 11 Certified: ECE 22.05 . Has many features such as removable washable liner etc etc They are on special in Australia. About 2/3 what you paid. ECE 22.06 is the new standard (I don't think it is much different from :05) so perhaps they have new stock coming in and are off loading the old certified stock. ECE standard is the one to have. Way better than Snell and DOT. See Fortnine YT helmet vids.
