Williams also go into a motorcycle accident in June of 2003, he played for one season for the Bulls. That is why they were better, because they lasted longer in the NBA. He had a triple-double against the NJ Nets in his rookie season. Maryland never recovered from this game. They choked away thier chance here and they choked away the game in Atlanta and the really choked away the game in the Final 4. Yeah they won it all in 2002, but who cares? They sucked ever since 2002-03 and Duke owned them forever after. Duke ran the Terps out of the ACC and now they will be stuck in a 3rd tier conference losing to such scrub teams as Iowa and Minnesota. Jason Williams is in the Hall of Fame for college basektball and absolutly owned Maryland. Gary Williams quit coaching because he couldn't compete with Duke and his idiot fan base would be happy going 2-30 every season if they beat Duke twice, but they couldn't compete with Duke on the court and Gary quit and the Terps quit the ACC. Class vs. Chumps here. Jason Williams is a hero.

if the same talent pool would stop going to the same school such as Duke, UCONN, Kentucky, etc.....those teams wouldn't be this good at all. Almost not fair to have NBA players on a college team. No, they absolutely never recovered from this. All they did was go to the Final Four later that season and then win the national championship the next.
