They did some pretty crazy / suicidal stunts with the General Lee racing car in the Dukes of Hazzard. Here's a collection of some of the more mind boggling one's, such as leaping rivers, gulleys, barns and even trying to bring down a helicopter by leaping at it!. Visit my site at www.jsbains.co.uk

No other car in the history of movies or television jumped like The General Lee Dodge Charger. Friday nights in the 80's were the best watching the Dukes of Hazzard. Good times!

right imagine if they kept on fliming the show today they proubly would have made the 1969 and68 dodge charger super rare and extinct of they kept making the show biy wrecking the general lee chargers buy flying them but hey worth it this show is still amazing

Yessir! Friday nights at 9pm!! Only time I was allowed to stay up past 9:00 on weekday was to watch this show. Happy days was on at 10:00 and then Shawnanaw at 11:00!

Of all the jumps, I think that long high jump to get in front of Daisy and when they jumped at the helicopter are my two favorites

General Lee was and is a great stock Car. I seen General Lee in Houston Texas car show along with Catherine Bach Aka Daisy Duke

They had filmed so many movies out on these old studio ranches, they are literally jumping where John Wayne and Gary Cooper used to ride!!

I can't believe I used to believe that cars could really do that back then. Oh well I was a kid closest I'll ever get to this is racing RC cars and that's the reason I race off-road is because of this show I like jumps and I like dirt flying!!! I'll tell you one thing I would have hated to been the stunt drivers in this car or the mechanics working on all of them!!

Gave me goose bumps seeing all those generals flying like that!! Glad my general Lee from John Schneider is holding up much better than those!!;-) rebuilding the engine this year... will post some videos after its all put back together!! There are a few times. In the pilot, the General is chasing Cooter in Roscoe's car, and jumps the crest of a hill, the scene used in the opening montage. But in the pilot, you get another second or two, and the driver side front wheel is clearly locked up. In the carnival episode when Bo gets seduced and sweet talked into jumping a pile of cars, on landing you can see the entire tail end crumple and fold downward.

Nice video. 1 question though, what's with the extra sound effects when the General takes off and lands ? Sounds like explosions and not the actual sounds from the show.

Some kind of supercharger of Cale Yarborough's. It was in the episode "Dukes meet Cale Yarborough" It could have actually been NOS but the show said it was a supercharger that Cale designed

Laughing my ass off at some of these landings where the car is just destroyed when it hits the ground, cut to footage inside the car, and the brothers are just lightly bobbing their heads on the impact. Alot of these clips the car looks like it didn't land how it was planned. I wonder how much off time stunt men got from this series from injuries.
