"Dulce Princesa" - Filipino Love Song in Spanish

Set in the slow duple time of the danza which was popular for the harana (serenade), this song has three parts, with the lovers answering each other in the second part. The song expresses a couple’s enduring promise of love for each other, a love that will transcend time and death. It was composed by Constancio De Guzman in 1940 with Tagalog lyrics and title "Maalaala mo Kaya".
The most celebrated rendition of this song was done by Carmen Rosales and Rogelio de la Rosa in the 1954 movie of the same title produced by Sampaguita Pictures. A number of musical artists have included this song in their record albums, among them, Pilita Corrales, Carmen Soriano, the Mabuhay Singers, Celeste Legaspi, Dulce,. and Ryan Cayabyab who recorded this song in his one-person performance repertoire, One.
The song is now more known as the theme song of MMK, after the long-running TV drama anthology produced by ABS-CBN which ran from 1991 to 2033, hosted by Charo Santos-Concio.
The hispanista writer and scholar Guillermo Gomez-Rivera also recorded a version of this song in Spanish with the title "Dulce Princesa". The Spanish lyrics are attributed to Fransisco Villanueva.

MUY BONITA CANCIÓN, Y LA LETRA ES POÉTICA. Me suena como a la música de mis padres y mis abuelos, suena a boleros Mexicanos tipo Agustín Lara. María Victoria, Los Panchos, los Diamantes, los Tecolines. hasta en el tipo de letra se parecen. Mi favorita de esos tiempos seria "linda boca" de los Montejo.

It's more beautiful in Tagalog but nice to hear in other languages so you all understand. Our ancestors are more emotional and love is the center of their lives and songs.

This is the Original version, Many songs was in the Filipino Spanish language until it was translated into the indigenous Filipino languages. An good example is lupang hinirang which was officially first Spanish than English and at last Tagalog and another languages like Bisaya .

@@walalang741 No, it's originally written on Spanish and then later translated by the writer on Tagalog by Constancio de Guzman. It's an OPM.
