What possible reason could he have had to do this? It’s my understanding he even killed their dog. What a horrific tragedy. @@silvergirl7810 Not everyone treats officers with disrespect. Many people are good and respectable to officers especially here in my community. Yes there are places in the country where officers are totally disrespected, and live with the fear that they may not make it home that day! I think the negativity that the Media is constantly focusing on the negative stories has hurt the trust the people once had. We hardly ever see anything positive from the Media when it comes to the police, and they definitely leave the positive out, but they're out there officers do great things for "we the people" And thank God we have them there's nothing worse than hearing some say defund police! We would be in a world to hurt without them, And I think the ones that want to defund the police are the criminals they would like nothing better! Such a sad thing that happened here, and Praying for the family and the officers who all had to go in and take care of the situation. I can see how hard it was for the Chief in his voice and his eyes the situation was hard on him, as well as the family. Many prayers going out to all 🙏🙏🙏

"America" can't do anything about it.... my psycho sister is a crooked lawyer...she has a history of long-term mental illness and narcotics abuse. When her husband dumped her she went nuts but only hurt herself... Her new "lover" talked her into going to law school and becoming an "activist". Sane lawyers are too scared of her psychosis to do anything about her illegal activity.. Other crooked lawyers, crooked judges, drug dealers, psychopaths LOVE HER....because she will help them get away with their crimes.... Until EVERY DECENT PERSON PUTS ASIDE THEIR PERSONAL FEARS AND PROSECUTES CRAZIES.....NOTHING WILL CHANGE.... IT IS NOT A PROBLEM FOR "AMERICA"...IT IS ABOUT GUTLESS INDIVIDUALS WHO SHIRK THEIR RESPONSIBILITY... THIS PSYCHO WAS THE VICTIMS' NEPHEW... WHERE WERE HIS PARENTS, SIBLINGS OR OTHERS WHO SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING EARLIER IN THIS NUT'S LIFE? BIG LESSON....NO MATTER HOW BIG HEARTED YOU ARE... IF YOU HAVE A SPOUSE OR KIDS... YOU MUST NOT GET INVOLVED WITH CRAZIES OF ANY KIND... CALL IN SOCIAL SERVICES OR CHILD PROTECTION OR THE POLICE OR ANY OTHER THAT MIGHT BE APPROPRIATE... BUT DO NOT LET THEM ANYWHERE NEAR YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONES!!!!!!!?

Sounds like his violent psychosis wasn't getting taken care of anywhere. Really high doses of psychiatric meds can cause erratic or violent behavior, it's been well documented...I don't know his history, obviously. He could've been filled with rage at their rejection, or suffering all kinds of delusions - the idea that God instructed the perp to kill the whole family to " save them " from some horrific fate is an often repeated statement from people who kill their own families. Remember the woman who drowned all her kids ? She was already on psychiatric meds. All psychiatric care isn't automatically " good. "

To the Duluth LEOs who had to witness this horrific scene, please have your trauma treated. Cops don't like to talk about PTSD and some even consider it a sign of weakness. Do NOT let PTSD begin to take root in your brain. Secondary PTSD is a *real traumatic syndrome* and you never know which traumatic incident is going to push your brain over the edge. You don't want ANY part of PTSD, that I can promise you with every cell in my being. Please get multiple treatments of EMDR so you don't have to lose your life....so your children don't lose their parent....your kids need you the most and they deserve to have an emotionally healthy parent.

@CherlynK Police officers get a bad rap because that is the reputation they have created for themselves. You are pro police because they helped your son who was shot in the neck(bias), they did good for you so you like them. But if you’ve experienced the harm, trauma, loss of loved ones, abuse, Mistreatment, disrespect, and overall malice of “officers” and other people who are supposed to protect our judicial system- you would probably understand why people feel the way they do about police officers. Yes they see dead bodies and tragic scenes, they sign up for that. But they have also been the murderers placing the dead bodies for babies, mothers and innocent eyes to see. So it’s really not all good like you’d want, I’m sorry your son was shot.

Not enough mental institutions anymore. Regulations, with smaller facilities maybe and on larger campuses would be one way around the previous problems. @@cherlynk.8403 It surely does appear that how we do things is not the most intelligent in many ways. Medical school is made to be quite difficult and often out of reach and we lose a lot of good prospects with that method. The education system could use a good well thought out overhaul if we want different outcomes. Let's face it..profit is not a healthy motive. The way we have always done it is not working in this new world and the shift is painfully disorganized, illogical and incomplete. Hopefully, there will be some movement towards mental health hospitals and gentler smaller homes and separate institutions for the violent insane/ pedophiles coming back and in a much better way.

The man had serious mental issues and they were trying to help him through it. He wasn't just being an asshole. Consider yourself lucky if you've never been that close to "losing it", but try to educate yourself about the disease and maybe you will learn to have a bit of compassion. Nobody wakes up one morning and decides to be mentally ill.
@lovelyrich54
@lovelyrich54 2 жыл бұрын
This is why you don't allow family members with mental issues to live in the home with you and your children. I will never understand why people allow that! I understand having a good heart and all, but when it comes to the well-being and safety of your children you have to be very aggressive. My children do not spend the night at others homes for reasons like this. Of course they can go to birthday parties, school functions, and play outside things if that nature but no overnight stays. People don't say "oh by the way my nephew who's a sex offender lives in my back house", or " my husband has been to prison for 20 years for murder" or anything like that.They won't admit things like that because it's embarrassing. But it puts everyone at risk. I have a great aunt who lives out of state with her daughter and two sons. One son is mentally disturbed. They all sleep with their doors locked when it's time for bed, instead of putting him a mental institution. My mother just knows she going to get a call one day saying her sister and her other niece and nephew is dead. It's heartbreaking we have to protect our families at all cost. Even if it from a mentally disturbed member of the family.

brooklyn graves. A gentle reminder that domestic violence, overwhelmingly often, does not "happen between" husband and wife (or an unmarried couple). It's almost always the man murdering the woman. It makes an important difference that we describe the reality. Whoever does any murder with a gun, it shows again how we MUST end the easy access to guns.

By the time they got to the East end of Duluth the nephew had already killed his Aunt Uncle 2 young female cousins and himself. The Mental Illness has claimed an entire family and nephew. Thank you President Reagan for eliminating virtually all inpatient mental health hospitals and cutting the budgets of outpatient mental health facilities and ensuring that YOUR trend continues to this day. An estimated 26% of Americans ages 18 and older -- about 1 in 4 adults -- suffers from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. Many people suffer from more than one mental disorder at a given time. In particular, depressive illnesses tend to co-occur with substance abuse and anxiety disorders. Twenty-six percent of 258.3 MILLION is a LOT of people who need help. Of course not all will take the lives of others or themselves but they will need serious help. Until we "face the music" more tragedies and more tragedies and more...

May the 29-year-old named Brandon Taylor Cole-Skogstad rest in heavenly peace. Brandon Taylor Cole-Skogstad was an amazing, wonderful, and productive guy in Minnesota to be around with. Brandon Taylor Cole-Skogstad however may have some mental illness, felt deep sadness, and/or suffered from depression. This is not much of a domestic abuse case but rather more of a suicide case of a man who sadly took his own life. I know of a super extremely sad murder-suicide last year where unfortunately the brilliant, smart, kind, and loving 19-year-old Farhan Towhid tragically took his own life/committed suicide. The suicide of Farhan Towhid is honestly one of the most saddest and melancholic suicide I ever heard about. Rest in genuine heavenly peace to Farhan Towhid, Howard Newhouse, Brandon Taylor Cole-Skogstad, Andre Anglin, Caleb Duberry, and Humberto Christian Tovar Zapata. It can be a disgusting world where there are still people in the comments who disrespects, bullies, or dislikes people who already committed suicide due to mental illness. “Suicide isn’t cowardly. It’s not weakness. It isn’t selfish. It’s born of a hopelessness that can imagine no other way out. It is a thick, pitch black haze created by powerful personal demons that prevents you from seeing light in the moment.” - John Pavlovitz
