South Africa has yet again received an international cash injection; in the form of a reported $497-million loan from the World Bank. This is allegedly for the purpose of financing a clean energy project. The project is reported to have an aim of decommissioning and repurposing the Komati coal-fired power plant using renewables and batteries. This is in line with the government's efforts to transition the country toward a low-carbon development path with reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy. For more, we are joined by Duma Gqubule, an independent Economist and Commentator on issues of economic development and transformation

Since theres no developement taking place in SA - wheres all these loans going to - this business of " renewables " is a smokescreen ' maybe in 50 years renewables might be able to replace fossil fuel - like they say " follow the money "

I feel sorry for the party that will take over this country from the ANC in 2024. It will take a country that will actually be an entity of foreign financial institutions with all these loans that our current government is taking.

Not just any foreign institution but the West (Breton Wood) financial institution that wreck havoc during the Zuma era with fake phony ratings downgrades. The new party or president will be beholden to the West. If South Africa does not tow the Western line; we will be hit hard with sanctions, downgrades, Media hysteria alas Sunday Times

Crypto trader's i am trying to avoid making any new buys at this point in other not to get sucked into a bear market trap, It's tough making money in stocks when institutional investors are the driving force behind the selling… although i read an article of people that grossed profits up to $150k during this crash, what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist?

I enjoy my day today market decisions being guided by a portfolio-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not outperform, been using a portfolio-coach for over 2years+ and i have netted over $300k

@@justinteixeira3987 you can’t bring in elements of profit maximisation due to please shareholders into social goods. Electricity like water, basic foods and housing are basic human right and once you add elements of profit affect people drastically, we have hunger and homelessness and generations of people living in one family home due to the commodisation of basic housing and we see the likes of cosmopolitan taking advantage of government selling apartheid style housing to the working class for more R800 000. We live in one of the most capitalistic country with a population that is largely poor, which makes us unique in comparison to western country who are capitalistic have largely middle population. As a result of our current private sector it manifests itself as oligopolistic due to everything we consume comes from less than 5 companies. Tell me why is everyone buying bread tiger brand which is retailed by picknpay, which is something that can be made and sold locally. It is not possible due to the oligopolistic food producers, manufacturers and retailers are partly owned by the PIC and would make sense for government to subsidise local bakeries as bread is the oligopolies biggest revenue stream. Private doesn’t care about people but rather to make profit. China is a great example of what a nationalist government can achieve economically but obviously there should be some respect human rights and to freedom of speech.
