Thanks! I might add that top floor apartments get the sun and heat extensively. Even if it's concrete, one gets the convection effect thru the night! Certainly, South side is HOT! As for waterlines, 1/2" may be standard in many areas here, so perhaps it wouldn't be a consideration. However, a tank system would definitely be a plus. I believe that the reason we had a problem, was that our rental is at the extreme backside of this development. So every house before us gets water first. And with a 1/2" line, the city system inadequately supports the development. Poor planning? Or whatever... Thanks for viewing and subscribing!

Thanks Michael for the question! My electric bill has been reduced to about 50%. Be mindful that the turbines can only extract the volume of air that can be pulled through either large gable vents or ample soffit venting. If your soffits aren't perforated, you can manually cut openings and attach screened plant-on vents. Inbound air volume will determine how much air a turbine can pull out of the attic, in other words.

Very true! However, engineers are required to approve all plans of the construction to maintain good building practices. But after a building permit is issued, there is not, for the most part, any follow up nor inspections to make certain that those standard practices are being implemented. If you get a chance to visit, they charge admission to use the pool, let us know what you think of the home construction inside. The next exclusive is El Pueblo Genovivo a little bit east of TA, a much older Development so the homes have been constructed in different time periods.

It would be fine if the high end had a couple of turbines to vent the attic space. But this place hasn't been as lucky as that. I'll try to work with the owner to install a couple of them.. I'll install them myself if need be.

Great suggestion! But there is no ridge vent, it's a flat roof with incline of about 4/12. It would be an expensive proposition to do it on this roof. The house I built in Mindanao has 2 foil both sides with good quality foam inner layer, which I put under the purlins (2"×3") on a 4/12 gable roof. That proved to work very well. Then I was going to put the same on the ceiling under the finish board, which would have eliminated practically all heat from above. But I didn't finish the house inside...for reasons I will elaborate at a more appropriate time. Thnx for your comment!

Correction...ceiling foil insulation would go above the ceiling finish board.

Oops, another correction...this roof is about a 2/12, not a 4/12 as the house I built in Mindanao.

@@WoodysPhilippines What part of mindanao do you live? My wife is from the Iligan city area. I don't care for the place it's crowded dirty nothing to really do there. As of now looking at Dumaguete. Only problem is the transportation to get to Mindanao from there is not good to visit her family. About one more year to go before retirement for us.

Should you ever rent here, inevitably you will encounter the convection effect from the roof and ceiling and/or concrete/block walls. Then my point would be better understood. That's totally possible. But going by ratings, Samsung is up there. I try to avoid product made in mainland China. Taiwan puts out great stuff, for the most part. I appreciate your comments!
