Theres so many more I could add but lets throw them in the comment for a good laugh.

You left out the best part of the Nathaniel Coleman CS degree quote. He also “solves rubies cubes in his spare time”, which gives him the “analytical” skills to solve the boulder problems. I’m also pretty sure they kept referring to the bouldering event as an exam

@@Plasmicballs I solved a Rubik's cube exactly one time. I worked out how to do the first two layers and then spent the next three days trying the final layer. On the verge of giving up I re-scrambled the cube and when I solved the first two layers the last layer almost solved itself. I managed to solve the rest of it entirely with the pattern I used to solve the second layer :P Put that fecker down and I'm never going back.

0:34 To be fair to the commentator, if you never or only barely ever climbed, even getting up a speed wall is pretty difficult. Nile Wilson, a former olympic gymnast, tried to get up, but barely got half way. Same for an MMA guest on Magnus' Channel. So for "mere mortals" meaning the average olympic spectator, it would probably be quite a feat.
@Lotjeloveslaika
@Lotjeloveslaika 2 жыл бұрын
I mean, that's true, but those were probably the easiest holds you could find in the entire sports climbing event! The MMA climber would've most likely fared way worse with Olympic lead routes or boulder problems, so it'd still be the easiest. A commentator is supposed to know that.
