I notice the written Romanized translation of Korean words adds extra “silent” letters. How would a person know that if they don’t have any Korean friends? It’s not people’s fault for pronouncing it how it’s spelled. In the US we’re a bit desensitized cause it’s so common to hear non-native English speakers mispronounce English words. English isn’t one of the easiest languages to learn so it’s kind of understandable. English speaking countries can’t even agree on English pronunciations 😂 better yet Americans themselves can’t even agree on English pronunciations. I guess that’s why it’s not that big of a deal for us we just excuse mispronunciations as that person has a thick accent.

Not annoying. It’s a language they don’t speak. Non-native English speakers may mispronounce certain words and it is very understandable. The same principle applies when an English speaker tries to pronounce something that is not in English. ❤

I think it’s easier for english speakers to correctly pronounce foreign words because the English language has so many sounds. For instance japanese people get teased when saying english (engrish) because there is no L sound in their language. So dumb is annoyed because the mispronounced words are popular food items. By now their popularity should have taught people how to correctly pronounce them. Here’s something to think about, how are those English speakers able to pronounce an entire supermarket aisle of imported beers, liquor, and wine correctly but can’t pronounce a couple of Korean menu items.? 😂

Lol I’m not even Korean and I’m annoyed 😂 there’s a famous Asian KZfaqr that goes around the world to eat and he consistently mispronounces names of food. Granted it’s not his native language but at the very least educate yourself and try, I mean you do this for a living. He married a Korean girl and still pronounces it Gal bi. I once heard him say Gar bi lol But I can relate with Japanese and Hawaiian words constantly being butchered.

@@jwpark417 lol too obvious? I like the man’s videos but sometimes his mispronunciations are too much. He’s pretty big time now. I would consider him a professional food critic since he gets paid to give honest opinions on food. So he should start stepping up his game and get these food names right lol Ironically the guy partnered up and has his own ramen shop, but he still can’t tell the difference between ton katsu and ton kotsu. He always calls tonkotsu ramen, tonkatsu ramen. “Dude you’ve ordered hundreds of ramen and you still say katsu!?” 😂

US Americans usually mispronounce any words. As some who speak several languages ( Oxford English is my native language) German, Dutch and Spanish . I learnt ask, ask and ask again, try , try and try again till you get it.

One thing that always kind of annoyed me was the pronunciation of Tae Kwon Do. Don’t know why the majority of Americans always pronounce it as “Thai” Kwon Do. Makes it seem like the martial art derived from Thailand or something.

@@BLMacab If they’re complaining about pronunciation, then they best be hitting the mark on other cultures food’s names as well. Instead of educating people and understanding we all have accents, they complain. So lame. I saw the clip again, you said there angels but I never saw them.
