The "chicken game" is played around communication. You don't want to come of desperate by answering each text, you want to come off as "busy", potentially uninterested, as in that your "value" is higher than the other person, putting the other person in the acting position, aka "do stuff for me, put in the effort, entertain me, show me you are worth just as much as I am(if not more), win me over, deserve me". And let's be honest, there's only a handful of people in this day and age not having the time in a day to answer a text. But the trick is in what Miss Yue Xu was saying, you need to be happy with yourself first and foremost, or to put it bluntly, the chicken game doesn't start when you begin talking to somebody, your chicken game's gotta be so hard that you're playing it without even yet knowing the person. Know your worth, raise it, invest time, money and love into yourself, stay busy, you need to be satisfied and happy with yourself and be ok with being by yourself, you don't NEED to be with someone else (that doesn't mean you have to be lonely). Only then will people see your real worth when you don't have to play "games" to attract somebody. Also, be honest with yourself about what you are looking for, whether it's something casual, a fling or a lifetime, don't set yourself and the other person up for disappointment. I realized it years ago, and am re-learning that again, and it's still true, it holds the water. Stand on your shit, put your money where your mouth is, be worthy, get it kings and queens 👑❤️‍🔥💯

Why did they take off Bumfights from here?! I’m bored and it’s late. I just wanted to watch the stunt bum be showered in lime lit camera glory. California? You fail’t me. Bumfights the mocku-documentary was so ingenious. It would’ve been a flashback almost to just watch bums knocking the snot out’ and poo’ing on the ground. The host representative was hilarious. He was definetly reminiscing on glory boy days when everything was golden as a kid. That movie was way important to the cyber computer world. It brought controversy and promoted prioritized privilege safety. It came out way before I was supposed to graduate in 2003! Way before social media! Way before “start-up” company issues! Bumfights was supposed to stay on KZfaq! It set a marker to keep children safe from unacceptable visuals being accessible on their web searches. Keystrokes, personal school schedules, all that because of one import/export port electrical outlet! Those beat ups weren’t supposed to make it to the Westcoast and promote wealth, health, or well-being. Bring back Bumfights, KZfaq! Please

This was amazing guys, thank you all for sharing ❤ I hope you know how therapeutic this was to listen to for me, and I'm sure for others too. Mental health is something that's been taboo for so long in Asian communities, and it's so refreshing to listen to you guys open up about hard topics. Sending you all lots of love ❤️

We are lucky to be American Korean. We think we deserve an eplaination but we have no idea that they never had that. From our age group we have no idea what they went through. The things we ask for they never received. We dont know the shoes theyve ever worn. As a korean american w a mother thst was bor in 1948 its the least i can do but try to bridge that gap. Imo. Im blessed to have those cards. Its the least i can do was give her the grace i think i deserve. Imo

very relatable to Dumb childhood story.. quite vulnerable watching.. even if you have still unspoken issues with your parents let it go, dont think too much.. we cant change that generation, the way they've raised us.. no sense blaming them for our messups now... deep inside they do love us ... thank you for this podcast ! wishing you all happiness and peace with yourself : )

imo, it's teaching your kids "to try" and learn from those things that we attempt - you said you appreciate this quality, dumb, in the ep258 there's parents that make the environment competitive, whereas others, make their kids collaborate, teach each other, and support each other and focus on just being a good human being
