We're not learning that much from you here. The toilet 🚽 bowl rim that you can't see is where a lot of mold collects. Concentrate on that and you get a LIKE from me. Hint, put something in the water supply tank.

Just found your channel . Definitely going to try this hack. I have well water(hard water) and get stains in my toilets non stop no matter how many times a week I clean my toilets... and I have 4 boys in the house lol

The active ingredient in oxy clean is sodium percarbonate. I own a winery and sodium percarbonate is what I use to sanitize all of my equipment. Fermentation tanks, hoses bottles, I even use it to wash my hands after I wash them with soap. Granted, oxyclean has other stuff in it too, perfumes and whatnot, so I wouldn't use that on my dishes, but that is why it cleans so well.

@@erinsebestyen8152 the sodium percarbonate is (if you read my comment, I did say i use it on my hands when I am working with a fermentation), but I personally would not use bare hands to scrub the inside of a toilet regardless of what cleaning agent I'm using.

One suggestion. If you take the pickup tube off the spray bottle you can turn it upside down and it will still spray.

Oxy Clean is one of the ingredients in my DIY toilet bowl cleaner, along with borax, citric acid, Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda, and castile soap. Works like a charm, no harmful chemicals to flush into the water treatment system. I find that stains under the rim at my house are caused by minerals in the water, so I periodically add some oxy clean to a quart of hot water, stir until the particles are completely dissolved, then add it to the tank. It helps to remove discoloration from the tank, and it takes care of hard water stains when it flows into the bowl.

Have you considered taking the remaining solution from the spray bottle, and pouring it into the overflow tube in the tank? This tube leads directly to the the holes around the rim, and can clean from the inside, as a small percentage of the water filling the tank is diverted into this tube with every flush. I've gone as far as pouring a small bottle of CLR into this tube every couple of years to remove any hard water buildup...

I use the Oxi Whiten for my white clothes and it does wonders! Soaking them overnight remove oil stains, yellow armpit residues, and even dingy white underwear.

Another tip with the Spray Bottle.. many have a removable pick-up tube feeding the sprayer.. when you remove it the sprayer works upside-down 🤜💥🤛

@@vanidaknutson4616 After unscrewing the sprayer head, removing the sprayer assembly from the sprayer bottle, the tube that will extend down to the bottom of the bottle is the Pick Up Tube.

A great toilet cleaning tool I make is with an old toothbrush--put the neck above a stove flame (don't use a lighter the fluid causes black soot). Don't burn the bristles! Then once warm bend the head forward to make an L shape. Hold until cool. Now you have a perfect tool to clean around the toilet bowl rim. It gets gross and the brush often can't reach. Check w/ a mirror if you don't believe me. This tool had changed the game! I also make a toothbrush w/ the head bent back to scrub down in things like my dish drying rack utensil holder that gets calcium deposits.

@@suparnadeymitra3354 1 cup each of these: kosher coarse salt, baking soda, & washing soda.. mix all three dry ingredients together. Then add 3/4 cup lemon juice, mix until crumbly. Form 1 TBSP portions on wax paper. You can either use the measure spoon or small mold tray, pat down. Let dry 24 hrs, store in a lid container. Makes 40+ tabs. If you have hard water (leaves film on dishes) adding a rinse aid may help. I also use these for cleaning.. toilet bowl, sinks ect. :)

Another good way of keeping your toilet fresh is wiping the entire seat & under the rim with a baby wipe every night before going to bed. It takes less than a minute & prevents stains/smells from setting.

@@DebbieUnderfinger I was teaching my young sons how to clean the bathroom each night & didn’t want them to handle chemicals. I discovered that the bathroom looked and smelled just as clean without having to use those chemicals every time. Besides it’s better for a septic tank. I still did regular cleanings with disinfectants, but even those cleanings were needed less often because the toilet was wiped each day. Another benefit was that my 4&5 year olds could quickly clean the sink & toilet when unexpected company arrived.

@@Mustang09Hotty It’s not the “mother” in you, because I am a mother as well. It’s the snobby, judgmental part of you that feels the need to say that to me. If their brains could understand the task, and they were coordinated enough to do the job, there was no reason why they shouldn’t contribute by cleaning up after themselves. My kids were cooking & riding horses by age 9. No reason they can’t clean up their own pee. By all means, raise your kids the way you want & don’t worry if other moms have different expectations of their children.

Another cleaning tip: when swishing the toilet brush around, deliberately swish water up into the holes on the rim. This gets the cleaner in there and flushes out any nasties. You will literally see black stuff come out👍

This is a fabulous tip! Thanks so much for posting it!! I've had a stain in the bottom of the toilet -- probably a calcium or lime deposit -- that I could only remove by emptying the toilet bowl of water and adding vinegar to soak the stain out. So much trouble. I tried this today -- let it soak for around 2 hours and the stain was gone! Thanks for much. I'm a believer, now, in the Andrea Jean Cleaning way of life.

I’ll have to give this a try. I’ve been a professional housekeeper for 27 years. I have always used a johnny mop, rather than a brush. I find it conforms to the shape of the bowl and gets in those tight spaces. Gotta admit, never tried oxiclean 👍

Palm Olive Dishwasher detergent works wonders. And it's cheap. Anything it'll clean in the dishwasher, it'll clean outside of it, and more. It cleans plastic, glass, ceramic (tile, toilets, sinks), metal, chrome, you name it, to a shine. And it's like $2.

Oxiclean works awesome to clean my husbands stanley thermos too. I just put a spoonful in the bottom and add boiling water. Make sure the lid of thermos is off. The brown coffee scum will bubble to the top. Rinse with clean water and pristine clean inside. No scrubbing.

This is a great hack and I can't wait to try it. Thank you for posting this. My toilet has a very strange design when it comes to Under The Rim. I put cleaner I'm just the rim and I always scrub with the brush. One day I found some extra long Q-tips and I put on some rubber gloves and I use that to get completely under the rim and I was shocked when I flush the toilet because all these chunks of black mold came out. I don't understand because I clean my toilet I'm looking forward to using this to deep clean the toilet

I use half bottle of bleach, half bottle of water and a cap of dish soap in a spray bottle. Works better than anything I can buy in the store. I probably could substitute the bleach with Oxi-clean but never bothered to try.

Now I really like this.....could you do one for snowbirds coming home from wintering else where....? You come home ...the toilet is nasty...why because it's sat there unflushed for months....what to do....before you leave next time...easy! Flush the toilet wait for the water to settle down....and sprinkle comet cleanser where it's still wet but not in the water.....surprisingly instead of running out it actually stays in the bowl...and no nasty toilet.....love your videos..rock on.

1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide also works well on cleaning the bowl smells but leaves no fragrance. In addition it is water soluble, no need to warm water to dissolve it like oxy.

Well, I wouldn't really call it washing powder, when you say that, most peple think of a detergent, which is a soap. This is really a type of bleach, one based on oxygen (it's sodium percarbonate that breaks down into hydrogen peroxide, a bleaching and sanitising agent, in the water). It won't shift things like heavy limescale - which can either be white or a brown colour if if contains iron. To remove those you need a cleaning agent with an acid of some sort, which will attack the alkaline limescale.

hi im gonna try this also instead of a spray bottle im gonna put the mixture in a toilet duck botttle (designed to put liquid under the rim) that should sort it and be easier to do than the spray

What works great and is fine with pets is apple cider vinegar dump about 2 cups into the bowl, then soak enough paper towels to cover the underside rim leave it for maybe half hour, or until u feel it’s been left long enough then use the paper towel to wipe under the rim, get ur brush give it a good scrub bam your toiets clean and smells other then vinegar but know that if anything is left in toilet and dog or cat drinks it won’t kill them.

You can recycle the actual bowl cleaner bottle that gets nicely under the rim, buy one bottle one time and reuse, over and over with your own liquid mix

We have a black rubber plunger that leaves black marks after it's used and it drives me crazy that toilet bowl cleaner nor bleach gets it off!! I'm sooooo trying this!

I use a portable bidet with water and detergent to spray up inside the rim. Works fine.

I use CLR and flush the toilet first with the water turned off. Some will remain in the bowl. I use a small plastic cup to get the rest. If it's just an inch left, don't worry. Now I squirt in my CLR and let it set a few minutes. I use a toilet brush and scrub the stains off. On an old toilet, I have used a putty knife to loosen it. The laundry detergent is good from this point on.

F.Y.I. The light gray bristles of your toilet brush are ment to be bent at an angle (30° or so) away from the toilet brush handle. Allowing it to be used for scrubbing under the rim.

have youever tried putting the Oxi in the holding tank? that way as it runs out the rim holes it also cleans? the enfortunate part is it doesnt stay in that area long enough to saok its more of a rinse?
