Just a suggestion. Remove the the door to the hot water room. Find a roller shade the same with as the door frame. Remove the shade from the roller. Now get some of the screen material, you use for screen doors and windows. Spray paint the screen any color you want. Now Staple the screen to the roller and mount the roller to the door frame. This will let the heat into the hot water room, but keeps the animals out. Or you could buy some reflection insulation and put in on the walls to help heat the room. Anyway Merry Christmas and your house looks nice. Yes we have lots of snow in upper Michigan.

I love the plastic tree and reindeer. My mom had those in our house during the 70's. The goose canisters are from the 80's as I had them too.

It is lovely! You went all out in a small space. I found all of my Christmas wrapping paper curbside this year Some of it was still sealed in plastic. I found a bin to store it at another curb. I had found plain sheets too, which I use to cover my bird cages on these recent cool nights. I my favorite bird cage cover is a canopy piece with "Beyond" printed on it It was a Bed Bath & Beyond dumpster find.. I no longer dumpster dive, but I curbside hunt on Sundays. I remember my mother having those melted plastic wall hangings (snowman, Santa, etc)

I’m always amazed at the stuff you find and create. I don’t know but you will be a great mother.

Your home reminds me of when I was a kid... late 70s early 80s teen! The only thing missing is the tinsel on the tree! Anyway, I love how you decorated it with all handmade items! I have bits of handmade items I made over the years. You did quite well! Plus I love the fact that aren't going all trendy. Sometimes its the trendy things that drive you crazy!

To prevent pipes from freezing always leave a faucet dripping. I usually fold a small towel and put it in the sink so I don’t have to listen to the dripping. As long as water (hot or cold) is coming thru the pipes they won’t freeze.

I had no idea you were in Michigan. I am too and love watching your videos. My favorite thing to do is shop at thrift stores. You small house is so cute. I am also a cat lover and currently have 5 cats. I had 7 but 2 of them passed away within a few months of each other recently. I am in the Mundy Township area. I love seeing the things you find in dumpsters. I am much too old to be able to search in dumpsters but it is fun to see the goodies you find. Thanks for sharing.

You need to drip your cold water faucets all of them our pipes froze one time and we had to call someone he told us when the lows go down to the 20s drip the cold waters you don't need to turn it up any higher an expensive lesson we learned but are pipes never froze again and it gets really cold in Washington we are in single digits most the time.
