CVS is so good to us. Dollar tree not to bad as well. We, on a whim, hit a dollar tree today, 3 cases of chips, and 3 cases of pretzels...filled up the blessing box and then some. We got swarmed at the box but, at least 10 people loaded on up something to eat.

Ours was locked for about two weeks. 🙄 seems pretty weird to be so damn jealous of your garbage. 😂 if they are so upset why did they throw such interesting things away to begin with?🤷🏻‍♀️😁😂 I don’t know if our locks were broken off or the manager just got sick of unlocking it for waste management. Lol. Either way, yay me. 😁😁😁

Oh goodness Shannon, your so lucky Beth was there when you feel! As you would have been completely in that dumpster! I also would have been scrubbing my foot after stepping in that nasty juice! I can only imagine it,as I've never been diving ,but I've been to those dumpsters when I was working and they're extremely nasty sometimes! So my heart goes out to you and all who go diving, as it's a brave job all of you are doing! Thanks for saving the world with all the goodies you find and donate! If the stores would stop the waste, and start being good people then this world wouldn't be so messed up like it is with all that's gone to the landfills! People world wide can use that stuff as you well are aware of! It gets my goat to see all the waste every time you go ! But I'm so thankful for people like you and Beth! Keep on diving our friends!

Shannon you can get rubber coverings for your shoes with tread so you wont slip. They will help protect your feet and shoes. Just a suggestion.

I remember one time at the Dollar General the dumpster had water in the bottom of it, some of the bags were actual trash, so I used them and was glad I avoided the dumpster juice in there.

Love all that you find…It makes me bummed out because I cannot dive where I live and one of our DG stores always has an overfilled dumpster😢 All of that wasted dog food they opened is inviting the Rats, Possums, Raccoons to come infest those dumpsters!

I seen two raccoons one at this grocery store and one at the Dollar General. I put a board in the dumpster at the grocery store and the second time it got out. Have not seen it in a long time.

Here’s a tip from a FB Dumpster Diving group: Food pantries that provide meals for at-risk kids say the thing they most need for kids is shelf-stable milk. I looked on Amazon and there are both regular & chocolate milk in the 8 oz (juice box) size by case lots of 24 that are very affordable. Also you can set up scheduled (automatic) re-ship and it’s even cheaper. The kiddos need that milk for bones and teeth. And for the cereal all you wonderful subscribers send!

That DUMPSTER JUICE is quite a unique smell; vomit, BO, poop, urine concoction! I rescued two items that were COVERED in that and I literally had to wash them in a solution of vinegar and water TWICE and then air them for TWO more days. The smell in my car was horrendous riding back with them. 🤢 You did the right thing removing your sock and washing your foot because that juice is full of bacteria.👍

If you keep a can of Skoal Original in your glove box for bee stings... when you get stung take a healthy pinch of the skoal into your hand then spit in it until wet... put it on where you got stung...when dry and crusty rinse off with cold water (do NOT rub it off!) to get rid of the stinger .Yes I know it's gross but it will draw the poison and the stinger out Been doing this for YEARS and has always worked like a charm

I have tried to dumpster dive and most dumpsters have been replaced with the trash compactors . So sad this is happening. They don't care about wasting food that is nothing wrong with it. You keep doing what you do. Love your show 😉☺️

You and Beth seem to have fun, even in a stinky dumpster. I am so glad she is there to help you. I could just imagine if you had gotten stuck and had to wait for an employee to come out. The worst that happens to me is when I have my arms hanging in the dumpster, trying to pull something out. My daughter drops the lid on my head, takes the flash light and goes to get my husband. Homegoods has specific times a year where they throw a bunch of stuff out. Usually after major holidays and end of season. Other than that, they only throw expired, recalled, or broken items. Try to find someone on the inside that could tell you when they are marking down to zero, which means they are getting rid of tons of good stuff to make room for next season. If I knew someone that dumpster dived in my area, I would definitely inform them when to go.

Shannon you should always wear your rubber boots while climbing in dumpsters!!! Then you will not ruin your Nike's and have wet dumpster juice socks and shoes! Also you can buy plastic sleeve protectors to protect your sleeves/arms. They're meant for office workers to save wear on your clothes.
