What a gorgeous day for street scrapping! The snow is still covering lots of potential treasure in a thick blanket so there is a challenge to overcome, but we can't let that stop us! With determination we can find a good day somehow, let's go get it!
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3sirg18
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
The grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
The melting furnace: amzn.to/3EGxT2q
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)
Please like/share this video if you enjoyed it, and subscribe to thubprint!

🎯I would go back to the construction site they chased you off of at night time. But however normally if you talk to somebody and get permission like a foreman they normally will just give you a bunch of stuff. In fact sometimes if you could create a relationship with the head honcho he'll give you hire quality stuff and set it aside for you. Sometimes in scrap metal it's about relationships and sometimes you may have to buy somebody lunch or something to get what you really need. 👍

Thanks a lot for your videos, you definitely have the right attitude! I personally think that kind of recycling and knowledge should be more widespread, people throw out so much "trash", it's insane. I've started sorting the "garbage" at work, and it's a lot of work but, industrial "garbage" can get quite valuable with some elbow grease. Also, my bosses likes me cause I can repair or rebuild old machines and make then work again.. it's always a win-win.. less trash, cheaper, repurposing machines and items, less pollution from manufacturing new stuff, etc. I'm all for repairing, recycling, scrapping.. we'd be in a better world if everybody knew what you, your viewers and I know. Keep it better than you found it bro. Cheers from quebec, canada.

@@ChrisB1993 we can't actually 'dumpster' dive because the bins are all locked away in compounds usually, but we have skips here. I have the managers permission to go through their skips in two locations, where I also have the e-waste contracts but don't do it while school is on, but so much still gets thrown in their skips. I go in the evening on my way home from work because lots of people still like to give their opinion about what you are doing & I don't want to disturb lessons or be the crazy woman they see digging through the skip from the window. You can also obviously ask permission to go through private skips and I have had my best scores this way, I still call it dumpster diving as many don't know what skips are, nobody has ever said no to me, because you are saving them money by removing what they have thrown away before the company collects the skip. I still prefer to usually go back at dusk to do this, only on one occasion have I knocked and collected there & then, that was a video where I filled my whole x5 with cable, I knew if I waited until dark it would be gone. So yes, 'dumpster diving' without permission here in the UK is illegal, but with permission from the ship owner it is Dandy. It is just so much harder because there isn't an abundance we can dive in like other countries to can dive commercial bins.

@vincedibona4687
@vincedibona4687 Жыл бұрын
It really depends on the area. In my neck of the woods, a lot of places like auto shops, electricians, and plumbers have their dumpsters behind locked gates. Most industry nearby is computer-based, so not a lot of manufacturing waste. My main source is apartment complexes, at least 75% of my haul comes from them. Luckily I have a couple dozen nearby so there's always stuff getting thrown out. Most everything else comes from construction dumpsters, but the next town over even keeps those behind locked gates. If you live near a large college campus, those can be goldmines too. But again, areas of the country and the world are just different. Drake is in Canada somewhere, I am in the central part of North Carolina, USA.

@joku8900

Atleast in here Finland any public non locked dumpster you can pick through it if you want so. At business places tresspassing is also possible ”crime” when picking stuff from companies bins but guards or police just asks you to leave because its not illegal to scavenge those because its just rubbish which someone has thrown away. Metal/ wood bins are big no no, taking stuff from there is seen as stealing. That might get you some troubles if bin owner press any charges

In the USA, our Supreme Court ruled that dumpster diving is NOT illegal, however, if you are on private property, they can always ask you to leave and call the cops if you don't, for trespassing. But private trash and recycling containers, _when curbside,_ are fair game.
