I always continue to be amazed by your videos, with all the extra need and financial insecurity during the pandemic the fact that there is still so much food waste in the dumpsters is just sad. The figure in the Spekulutius cookies is Belsnickle. He comes before St.Nicholas arrives. In some regions is Germany is Belsnickle. In other regions it is Krampus.

The speculaas is a Dutch/Belgium cookie. To pronounce it correctly you say speccuelaas. Type it in google translate and turn on the speech button. 😉 The spices mostly used for these cookies is, cinnamon, clove nutmeg, coriander seeds, aniseed, ginger powder, and cardamom. 😁

Easy spiced pudding Squirt of whipped topping in a coffee cup Layer of broken spiced cookies Layer of whipped topping Repeat till 3/4 full. Refrigerate 3 hours Stir and top with another squirt of topping and enjoy!

We call those cookies Spice cookies- took us a while to figure one of the shapes is a swan. They're so good, we crumbled some and sprinkle them on ice cream!

maybe this one is for you: a tipp is take 1 part Spekulatius and 2 part Milk putt the cookies in a fine blender and then cook them with the milk until thikening a treat for champions medium high heat at max

Those spekulaas is dutch, and most eaten in december With tea or hot chocolat.. you can also put them on bread. Brread, little butter spekulaas koekje ( cookie) en enjoy. Happy new year from the Netherlands, love you're video's.

Frugal Daddy clearly has the ear of The Universe! Just double check the ingredient list of the peanut butter - manufacturers are starting to add Xylitol as a sweetener, and that ingredient is deadly to dogs, if you ever give it as a treat. Egg-snatching dog - that was hilarious!🤣

I made a comment a few days ago about not seeing the girls much. I’m almost 65 and teach a children’s Sunday school class. I meant them no harm. I really just enjoy seeing them and how sweet they are. If you thought I was just trying to see the girls for the wrong reasons then you have your mind in the wrong place. Bless the children and don’t have them on if you think they would be in danger. Just love the girls.

Re: cookies. My mom used to buy them in the 1970s. We called them 'Windmill Cookies', they were all shaped like windmills. I'm not sure what spices they used, but it definitely has a unique taste and smell.

I love how you manage to get different foods from the dumpsters. Your house must have been the last house Santa visited. He must have been exhausted because I saw him crashed out on your patio lounge chair. You better wake him up before the girls see him so he can be on his way. My dog loves eggs as well. Raw, cooked, hard boiled, doesn't matter. He gets the broken dumpster eggs or random ones for treats. He will even dig through compost to get them. I found out today, as I threw away my last pit, that avocado pits can be used to make a tea or ground up to make a 'coffee' or added to shakes. Who knew! If you feel the need for some culinary adventure perhaps you could try a few ways. I believe that would qualify you as a Level 5 Frugalista/Dumpsterino.

Speculaas or speculoos is a type of spiced shortcrust biscuit, traditionally baked for consumption on or just before St Nicholas' day in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and around Christmas in Germany and Austria. I loved getting these at Christmas time

Enjoy watching your videos. I used to wonder what you could possibly do with 10 heads of iceberg lettuce. I was not aware you shared food. The other day I heard you say you do not like to mention where you donate or that you donate. I get that, but once in a while I think it would be good for you to mention that you know someone who would like it or know what you’re going to do with this or that. Your reference to the soup Kitchen was subtle but it gave us a little information. I have always enjoyed your video but I am looking at you in a new light because of that reference. The spice cookies are Speculoos cookies and if you ever heard of cookie butter its those cookies ground up in it... (its like peanut butter) we call these windmill cookies and I LOVE THEM! Avery yummy treat for me!

Yes yes yes you can grind those cookies up, melt a little butter, mix it and make your own pie crust. Cheesecake especially works really well. (Those cookies are Dutch and we eat these all year and I use them in baking and desserts all the time)

Happy new year 🎉 We have the speculatius but call it speculaas. In my village (South of the Netherlands) we eat those al year round with tea or coffee. In December we have buns with anise seeds baked in them and then a little butter and a few speculaas cookies in the bun. That to me is the start of the holiday season. oh my goodness lol Liesel took of with the carton and It looks like she might have saved one for herself and ran off with it. I know so many dogs who love a whole raw egg so she knew a good thing when she smelled it :) I think in the Dutch cookies I always thought its a boy and girl kissing, but from now on it will be the coo coo clock man. (Even if it is actually Santa....) another great haul. hugs

Those are my favorite cookies too. I miss those cookies. We can't get them here in Ga😭😭😭😭. I love it when it looks like they have already boxed it up for you. Just pick it up and go. Its drive through dumpster diving.
