Howdy, y'all! My name is Mike and I absolutely love scavenging for free stuff, random treasures, lost valuables and other interesting artifacts. In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. I appreciate scrappers/dumpster divers like you. You recycle and resell some things that would end up being wasted and buried. More ppl need to recycle but at least ppl like you get to make money off it but it’s just such a shame how much useful stuff gets tossed into dumpsters. Humans waste so much

Dude you would be like a kid at Christmas in our metal dumpster at work, we change excavator bucket blades and skins, 20-30mm thick and we always get cutoffs too, last time we emptied it was around 2,5 tons

I am just beginning to realise just how addictive your dumpster diving exploits are. Grateful for the small crumbs and bonus for the big lumps. Your enthusiasm knows no bounds and i need my regular injection of "Mike the Scavenger". When it comes to weed eater line i ran out once during a job and used several pieces of two core wire. Worked perfectly. Clothes can always be laundered, then kept, sold or donated.0n those "Carrots", maybe they unscrew? or you can just hacksaw the end off.

I agree! There is never a dull moment watching you scavenge! Did you figure out the sliding thing. First dumpster? Maybe a medical overhead light? No idea. But it is scrap worthy.

Gotta LoL at you Mike, always finding the good stuff out there, it's all good, I kinda did that when I worked with a trash company in North Carolina, man, some of the stuff I scavenged was beyond belief, it's so friggin crazy what people will throw away, and my boss was always on my butt about taking stuff out of the trash, until the day I brought in close to 100 hunting magazines, a shot gun shell reloader and something else, I had set all of it on the counter outside of his office window and he saw it, he knocked on the window and waved me in, he told me to bring in everything so I did, needless to say, it all went home with him that night, he even wanted to pay me for it, ah, to do that stuff again 😊

Geez I must be the only one who asks you not to edit your videos so short. I used to love watching you hop in and out of the dumpsters load Dottie (you don’t even call her that anymore 😢) you even edit out a lot of the searching. Hi Mike those connections you found come apart. Might have like contact glue and then tge outer sleeve. Can you take a picture of the contacts on that cable ? Thanks you. I would have gladly paid over $100. For those cellular antennas. Your electronic person would paid good money for those antennas.

First pick was some ballasts, 2nd pick was crap, 3rd and the 4th pick now we're getting scrap. A Dumpster gave some wire and a lawn chair, Mike the Scrapper's digging, looking everywhere. Oh oh ohohoh ohohohoh the right stuff

You have to watch your spine and knees and the double handling of some of the heaviest items could do you in at any time. Please take a minute to assess what you've got and pull the truck close to get those items in at first touch. I was careless too many times and my spine quit when I was 38, I'm 68 now and missed too much. There's a lot of fun, interesting and meaningful experiences in this life so take care Mike and don't miss out because of carelessness. Love your videos and your spirit. That grease gun is really a hydraulic pump , mostly used for auto repair , attached to different tools with a hose . Usually only needs o-rings , simple repair . 👍🇨🇦
