Howdy, y'all! My name is Mike and I absolutely love scavenging for free stuff, random treasures, lost valuables and other interesting artifacts. I mainly rock the dumpster diving scene but can be found digging through trash curbside as well as scavenging the river bottoms for lost treasures in the summer months. Join me on my epic voyages!

In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. The headboard of the baby crib would look wonderful hanging on a nursery wall even if the crib is not code any more. Nice to find and save all that vintage stuff.

Mike that metal springs is for the crib. There should have been a foot board like the head of the crib. You may want to swing back by there and see if it's there. The crib is from the 50's. We had one that was used for my brother and myself. There might have been side boards as well because ours turned into a toddler bed by removing the side rails.

that baby crib is early 70s im 48 born 71 i had the same exact crib , your probably finding things from someones attic or basement clean out, just make sure your selling for good profit, retro is very popular...cool find

That crib may be out of code. Old cribs have hazards that are on recall. Like the bars spaced too far apart and cause strangulation.

My wife and I have a shop and there are strict codes on anything more than 5 yrs old. We are in Canada so it may be different in the U.S.

I take the old cribs and upcycle them into other things my mother has one room that is decorated in all old school and baby stuff. She has porcelain and cloth dolls in the cribs and in the high chairs and one crib she shows off all of her quilts she has made folded in them. More uses than just for babies.

This was just mind-blowing. I'm so glad you saved what you could of the Hot Wheels stuff, bc even incomplete sets can be sold to fill in missing parts of someone else's. The connectors would be a big boost there. Same with that Ideal Bing-Bang-Boing. Breaks my heart that the boxes were there but toast, but at least the contents got rescued from the trash. The crib headboard alone could be baby room decor, if the side rails are cracked. And absolutely, that lamp's worth rewiring and keeping as it is.

The round metal canister is for an ice cream maker. You had the paddle in your hand for a moment, I think.

The Clinton motor is a old school go-cart engine. Someone will want it for a vintage go-cart. Like someone said in the comments the keg will sell for a hotrod gas tank.

just drop the magnet(still attached) into your pocket. Then when it sticks to something you can pull away without the attached chain being extended.

My brother was into chemistry when he was a kid in the sixties. He got a chemistry set for Christmas. It had all sorts of things in it - copper sulfate crystals, potassium permanganate, sodium this and that, test tubes and a couple of flasks. He wanted to do experiments, so my father MADE him a Bunsen burner out of copper piping and he would attach it to our old 1930s gas cooker with rubber tubing and do experiments on the kitchen table. NOT AT ALL DANGEROUS!

1:25 “The Cookbook” of the American woman. Nearly every lady had a copy of this book. My wife got one from her mother who got one from hers. The recipes were tried and true favorites and the book has all kinds of cooking tips and hints. 13:24 Falstaff! Do they still brew that stuff? Rodgers used to make fuel tanks from little kegs like that. 14:05 is the freezing can and plastic dasher from a home made ice cream making freezer. 18:47 “pie-us”. The Snoopy game is probably worth more than most of what you found, just save the pieces, you can sell them to people who are looking to complete a game.

You are busy beaver this week Mike. That board is the bottom of the crib. Old school 50s-60's furnishings. I have a lamp very similar to what you found. That rolling table, I would buy from you. Rolling wheels would come in handy in my computer shop.

antiques in that dumpster-and memories! hot wheels track, crib from the 60's, shoe polisher...that eagle lamp was of a style called "old American" in the 70's- somebody cleaned out grandma's house.

re the magazine article about the energy crisis, was about 1973; I was in college and you could only buy gasoline for your car on alternate days, depending on your license plates ending in an even or an odd number. HUGE lines at the pumps, got to move forward one car-length at a time...

If you ever come across a Betty Crocker cookbook in a binder, that’s a major collectors item! That crib is from early 60’s or late 50s, my mom saved the crib she used with us last 4 kids and I used it for my 2 boys. Totally identical! Very cool finds in the dumpsters! Someone cleaned out the old farm house attic!

Mike a lot of this things can be bought at an antique shop. The edges too, I think. Man, I hope that you took that Marlboro cigarette box. That old advertisement. 30 to 40 bucks., little plastic table too, maybe 5 to 10 bucks, If that French door was old, they buy those too. Great find!

Hey Mr the Scavenger, another great video, although I think you missed some punched copper in the dumpster with the door. It was down on the left under the blanket, when you picked up the Dremel. Maybe you could swing past it again.

Jack Pot Night, Mike! Magnet on the pull cord; attach it to the inside of the pocket; Dust mask when going into the dumpster, might help keep that dust from getting up the nose.... Keep'em coming Mike, how's that New job going???
