I purchased the same 'Bond' NTTD Seamaster last month. I bought mine on the NATO but now it's on a black rubber strap. It's so light on the wrist. I absolutely love this watch and It's such a talkative piece. Omega was granted special permission from the Military of Defence to use the logo. Definitely not stolen honor. I've never served in the military but I was a UK police officer for 6 years! Very enjoyable interview TGV. In fact, Duncan would make an excellent 'Bond'. Who agrees?

Spent two weeks in a villa on a vineyard in Tuscany a few years ago. Spent a few weeks in Scala on the Amalfi coast before that. Beautiful country, beautiful people. Enjoy TGV.

Jesus, your Bond experience was exactly the same as mine, Dad watches a old Bond film like Goldfinger, it was "Nahhhh, boring..." Then GoldenEye came out, I became a massive fan and then realise that Sean Connery was the coolest guy ever. I also bought the Quarts seamaster 300 because of GoldenEye.

Great video TGV! Duncan mentioned something interesting. He said first and foremost the NTTD Seamaster was made as a prop for a movie. He said, in regards to the 'fake patina' on it, it makes sense that if Bond is spending time in the blazing for fives years, his Seamaster would look like that. Thought it was interesting way of looking at it.

A nice casual watch collection review. The collection seems very well considered and has a broad spectrum that just about anybody can appreciate and relate to. Regarding the broad arrow on the no time to die Omega seamaster, I like the mindset to take the watch as a movie prop and not as trying to be an actual military model... This context brings the watch back into perspective and does not seem disingenuous as some might wrongfully take the broad arrow to mean on the dial. Calm down, take it as a movie prop and not trying to fake military provenance. In the fictional 007 universe it probably is an actual military watch from Omega as your guest tried to point out.

Great video and what a location! Love the amount of time spent on the skx but I'm a total fanboy 💯. Chronograph... Maybe the new Omega 3861 moon watch? It ticks a lot of boxes. I tried one on the other day, honestly cannot stop thinking about it. Tudor BB chrono if water resistance is needed or a longines big eye would be great too.

I love this! Actually I have been thinking long and hard about getting my first Luxury watch and I got the NTTD Omega and I am so happy with it. I always wanted something that looks a bit retro, and as a huge Bond fan i just needed to. The Omega that Brosnan wore made me fall into the watch hobby so its fitting that my first luxury watch would have that connection.

I'm a novice to all of this and of course I don't have a good suggestion for Duncan's chronograph choice. I do have a Citizen Promaster SST that I love but I don't think it quite fits his style. I have the blue/orange/stainless model and Strapsco makes a NATO strap for it that is a dead bang match for the colors, but his tastes are probably elsewhere. In any case this video was an unusual pleasure. It was great to hear both of you talking so genuinely about these choices, and most importantly their history and the motivation. You're making the world more civilized one watch and beautiful setting at a time, and there's no mistaking the joy it brings you.

@@jimmya4217 The Strapsco NATO Blue/Orange is as close to "from the factory match" that you will find for that Promaster SST. $19.99 and very comfortable also. I bought the spring bar removal kit also. I actually duct taped the face of the watch to the desk (just a small patch, on the crystal, not the bezel or ion blue, cleans up with no problems, does not damage the finish, makes it soooo easy) to ease the removal/reinstallation of the pins. You have to wiggle and gently persuade the NATO strap edges past the spring bars because of the close clearance between the case and the bars. It's not a problem, just be "assertive" not "aggressive" and persuade them. It's awesome once installed and it doesn't move around at all. Then you can condition the leather strap and store it for other times. The order was: Stripe Edge Seat Belt NATO - 22mm, Orange & Navy Blue. I really like the watch, too. The colors were a reference to part of my heritage (Dutch). The price is right, and I wear it at least 3-4 times a week. Eco-Drive is 100% what they say. It measures MPH/KPH as part of its "Race Mode" which you can also use to calculate your average speed over a given distance if you jog, run, or bike! You can verify your car's speedo reading easily! Only criticism is that the LCD is a bit dark in some lighting conditions. It has red backlighting but only in two of its modes, it should be in all modes. In decent light it's fine, and the rest of the watch is just gorgeous and functional. Best wishes and have fun! P.S. The Promaster SST model we're talking about has a rather large 46mm case. The way the bezel is done (kind of inset from the edges) it looks a bit smaller on the wrist. I have an 8.25" diameter wrist, and the factory band is in the last two holes when I wear it. If you have a smaller wrist, it may look too "blingy" for you. OTOH if your wrist is larger than 8.5" or so you may NEED a NATO strap.
