I had the privelage of visiting the Two Thin Coats paint factory to try out their second wave of paints. It was a fantastic day, I cannot wait to get more time with these new colours.

I saw the other take to your visit from MS Paints and saw just that brief clip of Gizmo and had to check your channel out. I'm so glad I did. I also like to use vibrant colors with a lot of my models and this was a great demonstration and some thoughts of this new range.

I loved the metallics from the first wave so much - what would you say a good colour match would be for the metallics from Wave 2 to the Citadel range?

One of them is matched to runelord brass for certain, not 100% sure on the others but yeah, just as nice as the first wave

Love the look of that steampunk copper, just seems a bit different (more aged!) than other coppers. And turns out it's made just down the road from me.

Are 2 thin coats able to be used through the airbrush straight from the bottle or do you gotta thin them

I tend to thin everything when I put it through the airbrush, so I’ve not tried without thinning. I’d say best results will be when thinned slightly. Though the good thing is the consistency is spot on throughout the range, so once you know how to thin one you can thin them all

The paints might be pretty good, but the price ain't :( They're €5.5 where I live!! I honestly don't see what makes them worth such a high price, even Scale 75 manages to be cheaper than that.

I can't speak to prices outside the UK tbf, but over here they're around the same price as other brands (citadel, Vallejo, Army Painter)

@@ThePickleJar here in Sweden Two Thin Coats are a lot more expensive than those standard brands, unfortunately. AK, Vallejo, and Army Painter are €3 - €3.2 while Citadel is €3.5, which is why the price seems a bit high. Then we have the more premium brands like Scale 75 at €4.9 and Pro Acryl at €7.5. And all of these brands are cheaper when you count price per ML, even Pro Acryl. For a paint that seems to aim for a place alongside AK and Citadel it seems a bit odd. I wonder if there is some Brexit / not EU tax at play here.

Bob here, from Trans Atlantis. We can't control the price of the Two Thin Coats paints in the retail stores. Our suggested price, that we use to calculate our discounts to the stores is £3.29, which after adding the UK VAT of 20%, brings the price to £3.95. This converts to about €4.45, so I can't really speak to the price you're experiencing. When we started working with Duncan we didn't set out to create a bargain brand paint range. We set out to make an exceptional high quality range that among other things, would both apply and finish smoother and deliver a heavier concentration of pigment than other brands, while keeping the price reasonable. We feel we accomplished this. I hope you get a chance to try them out. Thanks!
