Duncan, I'm writing this not to be confrontational ... I'm an American retired art teacher, but also an expert with airbrushes as I taught how to airbrush from the early 1970's at Community colleges in the USA (The GI Bill didn't cover the cost of college so I needed the bucks) and after 9 years US Army I got out (I had finished my art degree and teacher's certificate) I got an offer to teach in Australia. Been here ever since.... In every beginner's airbrush class I would tell my students; before you purchase an airbrush you need to know where you can get parts, and "Quality" of the product ... as I've seen so many Chinese cheap rip offs in my life. Since the computer software has closed many airbrush markets, many companies have either merged, like Iwata, and Sparmax... or limit their lines ... an example is Paasche dropped the AB turbo as it was around $800 and was mainly used for photo retouching. The hand made German EFBE is another. Also compressors... Oil bath like Jun were and are extremely expensive and they have pretty much walked away from the airbrush market. (Dentist offices use the larger ones they still make). Sparmax brought out the oil free compressors in the early 1990's and everyone has either re-badge (Iwata is one) them or sold Chinese replicas. Also I tell my students to always buy a spare needle, fluid nozzle and air cap, as you will only drop your brush on a SUNDAY for a job you promised someone would be done on Monday ....

That is fantastic and thank you for commenting! Iwata is my absolute go-to (the HP-CS to be exact) and I 100% agree on that with top quality and replacement parts. One thing is that they are expensive and most need to get something more economical to try airbrushing out before they commit to shell out for the good stuff like Iwata.

Needle and fluid nozzle for an EFBE is just over $150 Australian, but that was a few years ago and was their 0.15 mm fluid nozzle/needle (Smaller than a "Micron"). They sell them as a set since the parts are machine to fit perfectly and then they harden both pieces. I do love you are willing to take chances and try new ideas.@@DuncanCustomAirbrush

You both make really good points. I would be hesitant to buy this as a tester/starter as it has little in common with a standard airbrush besides having a needle. The trigger system is the most challenging part of mastering the tool and this might make it harder to switch over. Once established, it would make a nice field backup. Instead I would suggest one of two models from Harbor Fright for $35 (as a kit) the other is $19 and it works! okbye

I purchased a set of the Master air brushes from Amazon when I started airbrushing. It would only take about 10 minutes for my finger to start bothering me so I started looking into the trigger style guns. Ended up purchasing the Iwata Neo TRN1. It's the only airbrush I use now. Another reason I enjoy using it is that it has a larger needle and doesn't get blocked up like the others did.

Yeah I noticed this needle seemed a little larger too - probably a 0.5mm

Thank you so much for showing this. Since seeing your videos I've been wanting to try the spray paint art, however using the spray cans causes so much pain in my fingers. So thought I'd buy an airbrush to give it a go. I used an airbrush over a decade ago with painting my ceramics, back then had to have air tank I set up from harbor freight and compressor to refill tank. With the airbrushes I've seen on your channel looks so much less Hassel and now with a trigger one like this in your video, I am amped up to buy one! Thank you

I do prefer the traditional style airbrush like my new branded airbrush because it is more like holding a pencil for me, but, I thought this might help someone

Since I have lost my middle finger because of a horrific table saw accident I believe this is exactly what I have been looking for. The regular air guns really out a hurting on my thumb and cramps my hand

Me too!! Minus carpal tunnel. I tore a tendon in my wrist and had surgery last year. Anywho developed the issue with my pointer and thumb in that hand. I feel you for real. And this would be a blessing to have
