John bosco cali schools or IMG and St. thomas or chaminade modonna in florida add bishop gorman from Nevada etc they’re all private schools. The only state that has public schools ranked within the top10 in the nation that are PUBLIC schools is literally texas. Them boys go out there and play with local talent. Desoto and Duncaville are literally schools that are like 10/15 minutes apart from each other and they’re ranked within the top 10 in the nation. Texas still produces the most NFL talent by a large margin as of 2023 and that’s really everything that needs to be said. Idk why maxpreps even ranks private schools and public schools under the category. Public schools in texas cant recruit to the extent private schools do where they have dorms to provide for out of state and out of town kids.

One thing I love about the Dallas/Fort Worth area schools is that they are not scared to play anybody and risk getting beat.. they don’t care about rankings or records.. just about getting the trophy at the end of the season. Allen, DeSoto, Duncanville, South Lake Carroll, Euless Trinity, and Adelo are the only teams I know that will schedule teams including those private schools. No school in Austin, Houston or San Antonio has even tried to play a top 10 nationally ranked public or private school from out of state. I don’t think it’s a coincidence why DFW usually outperformed those other areas when it’s time to meet in the playoffs.

Really just Duncanville. They had the balls to play MD, IMG, and St. Johns College but everyone else is too afraid of keeping their beloved Texas reputation and not scheduling out of state comp. Big props to Duncanville tho. I'm sure the others schedule some but not top 25 national teams.

@@vincetarantino5632 DeSoto has played IMG before Duncanville and St Francis last year along with a Louisiana team they played in Oregon at the Nike headquarters,Euless Trinity played De La Salle out of California, Aledo played a team out of California, Allen played played a couple of out of state teams but most recently being St. John Bosco High off of California and south lake Carroll stated the out of state team playing when they played northwestern out of Miami when they were #2 and Northwestern was #1. No Houston, Austin nor San Antonio teams has tried to play an out of state school expect for Atascocita High School in Houston when they played East St. Louis which was good but not national top 10 good. Give Dallas-Fort Worth their credit. It’s not just Duncanville

I looked back a desotos schedule until 2016. Outside of SFA there is nobody. St Augustine I’ve never heard of the only 2 schools from Louisiana that are national threats were warren and edna karr. So if desoto really did play img and all those teams you said it was before 2016. So therefor no I’m not gonna give them respect for scheduling hard teams almost 10 years ago but not now. If you want to solidify yourself as a national powerhouse you have to consistently schedule out of state games against legit top 25 teams. Again great program but as far as not scheduling like a b*tch I don’t give desoto much props.

Yall are ignorant enough to compare private schools like IMG, bishop gorman, mater dai etc to these public schools, they dont have the funding to travel for regular season games and play out of town much less out of state. They dont have the funding to recruit players from across the state or out of state bc they’re not boarding schools they cant provide student athletes with housing just to move and play for their school. Its all district games by texas UIL law. Yeah they can accept pre-season games V traveling schools that are willing to travel like mater dai and other schools that have came into texas but again they come here bc they have the fundings to afford those trips you rarely if ever will see these public schools in tx organize those types of games all they can do is accept the challenge if IMG, bishop gorman etc want to travel to Tx. Its completely different

@@fixmypc3798well in texas you don't have a choice of having a cupcake schedule or not UIL makes the districts. rules state if there are multiple schools in the same area/city with the same enrollment classification they automatically get put together regardless of skill level. that's why teams like south oak cliff pick the hardest teams to play that they can for non-district cus they know their district matchups are cake walks

I think the better game would of been Duncanville vs Desoto rematch for state. Yes I’m aware of the district divisions. Both of these programs won their state championship game relatively easy. Maybe North Shore vs Summer Creek would of been a better game as well . Even though I believe North Shore would of beaten Summer Creek easily .

That’s literally why he mentioned “district divisions” each district in the state has 2 teams make the playoffs but they cant face each other again down line anymore bc they’re divided by 6A D1/D2 and 5A D1/D2 etc. he just meant in an ideal situation a rematch for state title between Dville and Desoto would’ve been better.

Hard to say really. Both teams will lose a considerable amount of talent due to their senior classes graduating, so they'll definitely be rebuilding. Both could draw upon talent from their respective freshman classes and add them to this upcoming season's rosters, so that'll be interesting to see in a few months.

The star they have is coming back and they will be developing others.. they QB only a sophomore I believe with a first year head coach so they going to open the playbook up some. I’m not saying another school can’t beat them and make it to the championship but crossing them out early is crazy. Look how far they made it this year being one dimensional

not sure if this is the exact situation but at my school we had to get prescriptions just to wear a clear visor which usually isn't the case unless you're getting a tinted one so my best guess is they have the same rule and no kid from north shore went out of their way to get a prescription just for a clear visor

We not ready for mater Dei and those guys yet.. I think this group coming up in Duncanville ISD will be in about 2 years or so… it’s some good athletes coming up from Byrd,Reed and Kennemer! Duncanville and Desoto both nowhere close to being done.. Both teams could win at least 4 more title within the next 5 years

6A is divided into two divisions in the playoffs, I being the largest and II smaller. That being said, Desoto is unquestionably the top team this year.

Yup, Desoto was hands down the best team in Texas… Desoto ISD enrollment has decreased over the years.. Desoto is also being realigned to 5A in 2024.. so the domination will continue for sure for Desoto

Crazy thing is they both from the same district as well when is to sports. That’s why is it’s called the district of doom for sports because DeSoto, Duncanville, Cedar Hill and Waxahachie are usually somewhere at the top in the state when it comes to football, basketball, track, soccer, baseball, etc. it’s like regular season playoffs
