So here's how it works, when Brad is intentionally trying to ruin Rob's day, it doesn't work out so well but when Brad just wants to review a movie with Rob, it just doesn't ruin his day, it ruins his very existance.

You think Rob's day isn't ruined, but it's simply pre-emptive. When the Dune movie comes out, and Rob finds out this movie is better than Dune then his day will be ruined.

The only time "I bet you're wondering how I got in this situation." still works is when there is a huge gap between what the initial scene shows you is happening and what is actually happening, and it becomes a twist. You think you know what is coming but then realize that the situation is not what you originally thought. But even then, it means the audience might not be invested in the story up until that twist is revealed, thinking that they already know how the story is going to end up. Even if they are blown away later by the twist, they still spent that initial period feeling bored. So, it's best to use this if after only about 10-20 minutes into the movie the twist is revealed. But, in this case you're ALSO gonna need something to TOP that twist later in the film.

Yea but the way it is used today is like if Alien showed the alien or chestburster scene in the beginning and then flashed 48 hours earlier. Or if Fury Road opened with them escaping and then went two hours earlier. It's different if the movie is structured non-chronologically or is being told in a flashback. This is just the execs thinking the audience is dumb.

I wouldn't have believed it was Dune, just because of the style of the costumes and props, but I might have believed it was the new Ridley Scott movie. Great directing! I hope this guy gets some prestige gigs.

For anyone curious, the gas mask that alien soldier dude wears at 13:11 is a Polish MP-4. The other aliens wear a black Soviet ShMS optical gas mask, which they didn't even bother using the hose with? What the fuck?

I'm genuinly a bit impressed. The ship designs are good, bit of star wars DNA but clearly their own thing. I actually did a doubletake because the alien's rifles? Those are Nerf Stampede toys.

The one biggest gripe I had when I watched the much lauded Battlestar Galactica reboot was that a good third to maybe half of of the episodes starts off with the Big Scene then the rest of the episode is a flashback... It's like in Mandalorian when I go "dear god, another one on Tatooine???"

The funny (not really, but anyways) part is that basically all of the comments on the movie's trailer is just trashing the film as a whole because of the title and subpar cgi. If subpar cgi and a mockbuster title are the only things to complain about, I don't really think that should entail a trashing of the film as a whole.

Yes, the books by Frank Herbert are. People are split on the spin-offs by his son, Brian. It’s a series about cultures and political intrigue. Some people call it Game of Thones in space, which is sort of fair. It starts off as a seemingly standard and predictable sci-fi fantasy, but develops into something more complex.

It's nice you guys are praising this heard a lot of bad things Marc Price is a low budget film maker who looks to make the best movies he can with the budget he has. You should check out Val Verde Broadcasting channel on KZfaq for an interview with him their content is great too
