Fun story the Outer Limits had an episode called I Robot before this movie came out with some the same exact lines in their script.

It's not a great movie, but the scene where he reveals how he got his arm is stuck in my head. One of Will Smith's best scenes, in my opinion.

So this movie has as much to do with its book as starship troopers did.

If you want to see a Agatha Christie style mystery with robots I highly recommend the Doctor Who serial Robots of Death. What makes it work isn't the revelation that the robots did it. Instead it's the twists and turns the story takes surrounding the reveal. It deals with aspects of robotics that don't get much focus such as body language and dependency on robots. Also whilst the story takes place in one remote location the characters do give a sense of how the society operates. I could go into further detail but just watch it for yourself.

As lame as the product placement generally was, I do remember going 'Aw, his shoes.' and yeah, twenty years earlier (...while still pushing the setting of the movie OUT) with practical effects and Arnie? We'd still be hyped, and making 'This is how Sarah Connor felt, A-hole!' jokes

I really enjoy this film, don't care that its dumb. This is the film that got me wearing Converse so the product placement worked on me

This is a perfect example of an OK film being undermined by an awful title.

Imagine if this film was made today where adaptations are made to be a lot more faithful? Plus, it would prolly be more relevant considering where technology is now.

I knew this movie would be worse than ALL of the other Jurassic Movies, thanx to the way the last one ended. That wretched little shit only released, like, 12 dinosaurs in total. Yet the entire world is covered in thousands of dinosaurs. They made giganotosaurus look like 1998 Godzilla, and the jaws of tyrannosaurus are STILL the strongest, of all prehistoric therapods. What really pissed me off, was the man, with 2 "dinosaurs" eating his arms. One of those was Lystrosaurus, which isn't a fucking dinosaur. It's an herbivorous dicynodont, from the late Permian Period. There were no dinosaurs in the Permian, or any time before it.

I'm curious for this review, had to comment before seeing it as its one of those films that came out at just the right age for me that I grew up rewatching it and just being curious and interested in it despite it being an objectively horrible movie, adaptation (if you can call it that), and all-in-all a lackluster action movie. However I still loved it. It was an odd film that created curiosity in me to find more interests in other things, although that was never the point of the movie. Sort of like Waterworld; I know its a terrible move, but still loved it and will rewatch it every now and again
