Dune 2000 is known as Frank Herbert's Dune, a Scifi (Syfy) miniseries. Dune 2021 of course is the recently released remake of the 1984 but is a mixed of the original and multipart releases.

The 2021 edition is missing about 15 seconds of dialogue, edited to be uploaded. I've tried to keep as much of the spirit of the conversation as possible.

He is Stilgar now, he just is the character, absolutely picture-perfect casting. Reminds me of Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn - hard now to imagine anyone else's face. Not bad for maybe 7 minutes of screen time haha.

@@nineomite "7 minutes of screen time" - DV hired some high ranked actors for ridiculously few moments of screentime. At least we will see more of Bardem in Vol2

His attitude and rightful resentment and arrogance as he walked in is probably my second favourite shot of the film 👍

@@finnfeaver1196 I don't know about OP but my favorite shot of the film is Baron Harkonnen feasting with his men around him while Leto lies naked in a chair at the far end of the table. It was already symbolic how he was eating loudly while Leto was dying, but that shot encapsulated so much symbolism. The separation of life and death, the separation of the Harkonnen penchants for pleasure contrasted against the Atreides/Bene Gesserit philosophies of controlling oneself, and on a more superficial level, Leto's betrayal and humiliation leaving him cast out while his enemies enjoy themselves. But there were so many good shots in this movie that I wouldn't be surprised if everyone had a different answer.

The best part of stillgar is the minimalism and yet simply to the point characterization. Both versions show that interpretation without pause or regret.

That last line, "I recognize you" is pretty damn powerful all things considered.

Heartthrob stilgar. And the hound voices Duncan.

First version got it correct about Liet serving two masters, too bad the Duke's Intelligence Staff thought Liet was a local deity & didn't realize it was Kynes...second version was much closer to the book.. although neither mention Idaho finding the crysknife or being the Duke's Ambassador to the Fremen thru this agreement

The blue in fremen eyes from miniseries was always sort of "fading" when in light, and over-saturating in dark
@sarahlee66412 жыл бұрын
@@marcinzysko1653 Could they have been those u-v contact lenses? - where changing the type of lighting alters some of the intensity. Although this overcompensation in the dark is quite eerie in my opinion.

That is some weird damn blocking and camera work in the 2000s version. Going from shaky handheld to fixed camera then back to handheld? And the line deliveries.. don’t want to take another pass at that?

I can't help myself to think about the condition of Stilgar in Dune Messiah and COD. Ovvv. FH, why all of your characters are that tragic? Old dreams become new nightmares!

Terrible casting all around in the 2001 version. A bunch of white actors that lack gravitas and the physical features of the characters. Especially for Leto who is supposed to look mediterranian and Duncan who is dark skinned chiseled and muscular in the books. Stilgar here is just... some older white dude who doesnt stand out at all. The Lynch version wasn't that much better in this regard Villeneuve really knocked it off the park with the casting in his version, everyone's perfect.
