2021's Dune might be one of the most important films of our time and this video contextualizes Dune to explore and explain why. This video is the first in a series that explores current movies engaged in dialogue about religion and spirituality in the 21st Century. Namely, the emerging concept of postsecularism helps us understand some of the significant changes and tensions our current cultural climate experiences.

Hey Alex - I watched this whole video and really enjoyed it. I thought the music was too loud throughout, but other than that I thought your research was great and points insightful. It might help to break up your video into chapters to make them more consumable, but regardless, I’ve subscribed and I’m excited for your next video. I also can’t wait for Dune pt II even more now. Your video helped me look at the first film in new and compelling ways. I never thought of Dune as a commentary on post-secular culture, so that’s really fascinating to me. Time to rewatch!
