I stumbled upon your video while building my DM binder after getting tired of loose sheets all over combined with the annoyance of digital reference on a single screen setup. Thanks for the ideas! It helped A LOT!

Thanks for posting! The original vid is still one of my favorites, but it's cool to see what had made the cut all these years later.

Always nice to see how another DM stocks their folder. Second Breakfast will buy you a pint, yes they come in pints

This is cool. Nice to see how it has changed. I am just getting ready to start up my own 5e campaign and you have some wonderful ideas here for me to steal and use. Thanks

Great Job Matt! Its always nice seeing how other DMs organize and inspire themselves both during a game session as well as during game prep time. I have my own "Adventure Binder" however, I was able to use some of your ideas. Thanks

Donjon is really useful for generating just about anything. I wish they had a better map generator. I never quite like their maps.

Thank you for the inspriation. The part with sentient doors awakened my evil daDM, and i made a thing. My party cringes with every dad joke i make, so here's my revenge on those pesky humorless non-belivers. The Dad Door At the end of the dim-lit corridor you see One large door and 4 tiny doors, 2 on each side , each with a humanlike face. The large one looks like a grown man and the other like children. The tiny doors are too small for the party to enter, the large door is locked(dex dc Very hard). Alle the doors are sentient, and upon arrival to the corridor the party hears the large door say:” How do you know that a Necromancer is a nerd?” all the tiny doors quivers and one of them says “Nooo daddy, don’t you dare!” Artistic pause. “Because he lives with his mummy” the large doors laughs uncontrollably but composes when the party comes closer. All the doors keep shut until the party tells a cringe worth RPG dad joke. (joke stolen from r/ DMDadJokes/) Dm Decides DC for the doors Cha saving throw, depending on the joke told.

I love using DCC stuff in my games. Especially for crits and demon generation.

Any particular reason that you do not use sleeves? Sure, it adds some thickness, but the pages are protected and you do not have to punch holes into the sheets. Especially if you print right up to the edges.

The copies are not just easier to manage, they also let you protect your books. There is little need to use plastic on a normal printed page. Who does that?

Did you piece together that first page from the Lazy DM Appendix A, or was there a formatted page floating around that I missed? Great binder, btw!

Thanks for an amazing look into a VERY helpful tool indeed. Much appreciated! I have a question though. The trinkets table that you mention (but don't have yet) that is from the Elemental Evil Player's guide I am having trouble finding. I think I found the book (5e??) and all it mentions about trinkets is a small section that refers to: "chapter 5 of the Player’s Handbook or the Basic Rules", (which you already have). Could you please clarify? I think I found it: Elemental Evil: Trinkets - img.fireden.net/tg/image/1459/99/1459998220952.pdf

To be honest. The Jonny's Puzzle creator is really really disappointing. I finally decided to buy it, $10AUD and it's stuff I can make up on the fly just as easily. All the riddles in the back are easy to find if you search for riddles online. So I feel this was a waste of $10... Wouldn't recommend it... I'd much prefer you're Sentinel system, but I am not interested in the whole book... Just a bit annoyed that I threw $10 at nothing...

How many pages of rules and subsystems does one need? I for one much prefer the old school Moldvay, which doesn’t need a rules for every possible scenario, but instead seems to rely on GM arbitration to figure out what the best mechanical or narrative solution should be. Jmho / ymmv
