My assumption here was that she used the spell shapechange instead of wildshaping which lasts for 1 hour and allows the caster to change forms once every six seconds tought that would still make her a level 17 druid which seems a little high considering her abilities so perharps she had a scroll of it handy or a magic item which allowed her to cast the spell.

I noticed that too, but I'm okay with it because it's obvious that they did it on purpose for Rule of Cool, not because they don't know how Wild Shape works. Also, I can imagine that she traded some other class ability for Unlimited Wild Shape. For example, I saw a comment somewhere that said "When you ask your DM to exchange spellcasting feature for Unlimited Wildshape and access to the Owlbear."

@@onyx7633 Stormtroopers do just fine against anybody who isn't a main character with plot armor. Whenever stormtroopers go up against nameless rebel soldiers, the stormtroopers win. And although it is kind of ridiculous how often they miss the main characters, it is clear that the rebel heroes themselves consider the stormtroopers a serious threat, since the protagonists generally choose to make a fighting retreat against stormtroopers rather than take entire squads of them head-on.

Sofina probably cast True Sight on herself. (Pro-tip: True Sight should ALWAYS be on your spell list if it's not forbidden. It is SUCH an immensely useful spell.) Necromancers aren't restricted from casting Divination spells. So she could instantly see Dorrik's true form as soon as she looked at her, but yep, she failed her attack roll (though only just!) on the Fire Bolt spell. XD

That may bring credence as to why the guards were quick to identify. If they had a grasp that animal in their midst didn't move like how one should, than it becomes easy to target and possibly eliminate. Plus, in a stressful situation like that, there's only so many ways one could keep calm. Acting is definitely out of the question.

This is the best scene in the movie. It was very well paced. It was tense, watching her shift between small, frail forms that could be killed with one landed blow raised the tension immensely, as well as the one-shot style of the scene gave it an extra nervous touch, with the camera angles making it feel almost claustrophobic at times. It was also remarkably clever, the suit of armor gag was pretty great, every little moment flowed well into the next. I didn't know what the movie was going to do with the druid, and I was genuinely worried for the druid and rooting for her to make it out without getting hit or captured. Really well-executed scene, easily the standout in the whole film.

If we’re gonna get technical, you don’t instantly die if you’re killed in beast form, when you wildshape. You just revert to your original, humanoid form, taking the remainder of any excess damage (beyond what it took to kill your animal shape). But who knows, maybe it works differently in the movie… we don’t see Doric mortally wounded in animal form

@@mrdropkicker1 Yeah, but the first scene she shows up in, she's turning into an owlbear lol, so they're playing loosey-goosey with the rules. It's fine though, it was a surprisingly good movie. But her scene wouldn't have been as good with Chris Pine, for instance. Her death or capture was totally on the table, which is what really makes it mean something. I wish that more movies started to write scenes and scripts around keeping things unexpected. There's nothing that can make a story engaging more then making the audience unsure of what's about to happen next.

One little touch I like about this scene is the way they show the deer slipping a bit on the cobbles; not enough to do an "oh no! the hero's tripped and now they're going to get caught!" bit of cheap drama, but enough to make it seem like it genuinely is an animal with mass, momentum and hooves that are not ideal for this environment. I suppose her quick recovery from each one will be her passing her dexterity rolls?

Shape shifting is one of my most favourite super powers And in the board Game Dragons and Dungeons where U can invent your own character I wouldn't mind Chris Pine's character being able to use his 🎸 to use melodies as a hypnosis like weapon to make his opponents dance 🩰 uncontrollably And mechelle Rodriguez character to grow in size to a giant titan and back down into her normal Hight I can imagine the two becoming bounty Hunters instead with that 😉

What I like about this movie was that you know whether the characters did a bad roll like in DnD, like the part where the guard knows about how the suit of armor was Doric, it's clear that the character probably rolled a nat 1 on deception.
