The Worm was one of the best examples of a player who had a very defined role on every team he played for and he was a master at playing within that role! He didn't have to score so any points he scored were truly icing on the cake. His role was always rebounding and defense and he was the best at his craft!

As great as his highlights were, his biggest impact was his mere presence. Even if he never touched a ball for the entire game on either end of the court, he disrupted everything. Teams had to plan and play entirely different when he was on the court. That kind of disruption is invaluable. It meant bigger numbers for everyone else (minus rebounds of course lol). Dude is the defensive GOAT.

I didn’t really play basketball growing up but I was a cardio demon like Dennis , fast forward freshman year of high school I was immediately put on JV because I was so effective at the top of the key defending that the best players in the county couldn’t score.....thanks Dennis for influencing my play style! These days I surf and run but cardio and willpower made it all possible.

I know I'll probably get some Flack for this but I truly believe that Dennis Rodman is the best one-on-one defender in NBA history. I don't think I've ever seen a guy as Relentless and would seem to be just an endless body of energy always shutting down the best players always out rebounding the best rebounders and always blocking the best shots of some of the hardest shots people can create for themselves. The dude is on another level. And I love that he called himself the garbage man of things to do on an NBA court. He does all the dirty things and those dirty things he does Propel the Bulls to three more championships.

Jordan was the luckiest player in the league. Rodman did all dirty job for team. so he focused on the games more easily. his defense and rebound was art itself. My eyes were always fixed on him defending someone.

If you was to say how you would want to build a basketball player particularly the pf spot, you ask for a Rodman. 6’9 215 with a 7’3 wingspan, runs equivalent to a 4.5 speed, benches 225 at 27 reps. And his vertical was 42in. Like he was a physical specimen but for some reason he relied mainly on heart. Like it’s crazy. He said in an interview once that he didn’t think he was physically imposing til everyone kept telling him that. He always thought he was beating them by outworking them. Main so glad to see he’s still alive and well
