While only accepting a recent 1971 proximity claim you Filipinos made on those disputed islands you have with China So with your very own proximity claim logic Sabah belongs to Malaysia, along with a few islands, and like half of Palawan you Filipinos now control, that are closer to Malaysia, that you no doubt bullied from Malaysia in the past

The Philippine Department of National Defense disclosed in May 2022 that Chinese and Vietnamese fishermen, along with their coast guards, routinely conducted activities in the WPS, particularly around the Spratly Islands where the KIG is situated. However, they “could not be driven out by the Philippine government out of fear of war.” The Philippine defense establishment even lamented, “The Chinese, who have built islands in the West Philippine Sea, are still there, along with the Vietnamese. Three of us are claiming other parts of the WPS.” Vietnam occupies 49 outposts spread across 27 features in the vicinity of the Spratly Islands. Vietnam, however, continues to conduct infrastructure developments and facilities upgrades in its occupied features in the WPS within the Kalayaan Island Group (KIG) of the Spratly Islands. As long as Hanoi illegally occupies 21 out of 54 features of the KIG, ( Kalayaan Island Group (KIG) of the Spratly Islands) .Vietnam remains as rival of the Philippines in the WPS. It is problematic for Vietnam to become a real strategic partner of the Philippines under this situation, unless a mutually accepted friendly arrangement is successfully made through peaceful negotiations.

The question is, since Vietnam is also a communist nation, what guarantees Vietnam government not take the same path as CCP once they had reached certain goals? Thank you for this video. I've always been impressed by Viet Nam, the only country I know that never lost a war - even repelled the Mongol Empire three times. My Father in-law, retired Master Sergeant Nguyen Duc Tan lost half a lung after being hit by a Chinese RPG, when China invaded Cao Bang in 1979. He's an incredibly strong man and has all my respect.

While Everyone is distracted by events in the East Sea, Chinese factories are setting up shop in northern provinces, such as Bắc Giang, to exploit cheap Vietnamese labor and slap a "Made in Vietnam" label on their products to avoid US taiffs. How come nobody is talking about THAT?

It’s surprising that they even bother to set up factories in Vietnam when they can just ship ready made products from China to Vietnam to have the ‘made in Vietnam’ labels on them before shipping them out to the US

There are sections of Bắc Giang and other northern cities in which all the businesses have signs written in Chinese to accommodate all the Chinese workers who live there.

Vietnam has gone through a remarkable change since the Vietnam War. Not only was Vietnam able to put aside the animosity from the war but encourage good relations with the US and the world. As a result, Vietnam has flourished and gone through remarkable growth and attract foreign investment. And mind you, under a communist government that has the awareness to let the free market forces promote economic growth. Vietnam has the promise to subplant China as the economic powerhouse in Asia.

War leaves scars on both sides (many American POW's held by the North Vietnamese still suffer from how they were treated). Countries have interests and Vietnam's interest and the US's interests when it comes to expansionist China are very compatible.

you should ask them again if they are confident to defeat PLA this time? Vietnam and China are neighbours each other in geography, and nobody can change that, so PLA can exhaust Vietnam just make it as their military drill spot just as the 1980s.

@@kennethchong2813 3 Indochina wars, Vietnamese pro-France anti-communist, pro-USA anti-communist, pro-Soviet anti-Chinese, capitalist or communist Vietnamese would get punished and contained if China saw neighbors hooked up with other superpower militarily, now Vietnam refused to join American Bamboo Curtain 2.0 to contain Chinese, because Vietcong knew they can't deter or scare China with American help militarily again, that's why Vietcong will be more neutral, not too anti-China but also not anti-USA, then Vietnam will get economic benefits from both and freeze South China Sea issue. Vietnam in the end had to adopt a foreign policy that was acceptable to China.
