I wish more people did skincare dupe videos!! There’s another dupe for the SK-Ii galactomyces product; it’s Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence. It was originally shared by Penn Smith and is $18 on Amazon. Please make more of these videos!

When I've polled my viewers in the past, most people say that they don't watch because they have a different skin type than I do, so my picks likely won't work for them, or that they already have a routine they like and don't want to try anything new right now. :)

I kind of get why skincare videos are less popular - everyone has such different skin types, textures, and concerns, they might need totally different recommendations. But this was fascinating. I think lots of people overestimate how much they need to pay for good ingredients these days.

I completely agree to both points! When I've polled you guys in the past about skincare, I always get many responses saying that skin types are so different, or that they have a routine that works already etc. Skincare is more personal than makeup I guess! Also, I think skincare companies charge ridiculous amounts for things! Like Biossance and Josie Maran charging so much money for 100% Squalane or Argan oil that you can get so much cheaper at health food stores! It's crazy.

I work with elderly patients and I'll ask what their secret is to having such great skin. Besides genetics, most say just a basic moisturizing lotion or vaseline. I can appreciate that kind of simplicity.

@@abbyschwendler1107 my husband's grandmother used regular Olay with no sunscreen and drank tons of water, never sat in the sun. Her skin looked incredible right up until she was 92 and her health declined. But as you say, genetics are a HUGE factor. I love to be outdoors so everyday sunscreen is a must, but I'm still going to have squinty wrinkles and some dark spots. I'm over it! 😄

I love love love The Ordinary Squalene Oil as well! My favourite ways to use it are as a hair treatment, it works so well to moisturize dry ends that maybe have too much dry shampoo brushes through them. I also love to add a few drops to a bottle of facial mist and spritz it on after a shower, before makeup, after makeup, or throughout the day. It's such a versatile product, and such a steal of a price!

I love a good dupes video! I've recently started using a few Korean skincare products, and am always glad to see them highlighted. They can be pretty inexpensive for the quality and cosmetic elegance! (ETA: we are not the same skin type, but we're the same age, so have some similar concerns. LOL)

Tyvm for doing this!! Especially with telling us about the main ingredients and what they do. I want to get everything you showed for the dupes. I also love snail essence, I believe they found out it was great for the skin also when the hands of the " snail farmers" were healthier looking and cuts etc healed faster. So very curious about that SK 11 essence dupe. I'm so into skincare now that I'm in my 50's and I've noticed such an improvement with my facial Lupus Scars , esp using Cold Press Rosehip oil and Squalane like you mentioned. So great for acne scars too. Please continue skincare videos, I know they might not get as much views but it's so helpful and u do it in a way so it's not overwhelming!! Love your videos and we need Merch !! Stay safe and healthy !

It was great to learn about a dupe for the Tatcha Rice Cleanser. I also love that product, but didn't want to spend that amount of money. Will be purchasing the dupe. I just stumbled across your channel and am amazed at how thorough your dupe comparisons are! I have already seen at least 4 product dupes that I have been in search of for ages! (And I've only seen 1&1/2 of your videos so far!) Finding a dupe for the Tatcha Dewy Cream is priceless. No other youtubers have even come close to the amount of accuracy, research and thought that you put into your dupe recommendations. I actually stopped watching dupe videos of the people I follow because I was constantly disappointed. I can already tell that you know what you are talking about. I'm bummed that your skin care content videos don't get as many viewers because that's where my real obsession is. You should have a gabillion followers! The Tatcha Dewy formula is my fave, and it's amazing on mature skin, giving it that glow and keeping the skin hydrated. The dupe is def worth trying with that price, thanks!

This was really helpful. I’ve been looking for a race exfoliating product and this is less expensive than the SRB one which you have to mix with water, this is a no-brainer. I have put this on my list for immediate purchase along with a couple of other things that you mentioned for a little further down the road. Thanks again for taking the time to do this for us all.

Thank you so much! Skincare is definitely a passion of mine and has been since I was in my 20's. I love researching ingredients and learning all I can about formulas and how they work. But I also love makeup, and I feel like here on KZfaq it's hard to do both successfully. There are skincare-focused channels that do really well but when I try to mix it into makeup content it doesn't usually go over very well. :)
