Thank you Sir! The wick needing to be in the up position was where I was stuck.

They way you explained the process was spot on. I had the same issues you had a long the way. I couldn’t tell if you knew what you was doing and you was playing like you didn’t or you really didn’t know and you was figuring it out just like me 😂😂… thank you

Lol. I am glad it helped you out. I like to show the process (to include errors) even if it's my first time doing something. One thing about me is, I WILL figure it out.

Thank you! I have that round tray thing upside down! The thing you flipped over. Going to fix that and see if mine will work!

Your video was the only one that showed removing the cover, that showed the liquid kerosene. The part that you show pulling the wick into that covering (over the liquid kerosene) no prior video showed that. Had the heater torn about 5 times before your video. Thank you

Your comment is the reason that I do this.

Can you tell me if your unit came with a catalytic converter which is a screen type that increases the efficiency and increases the heat output too. Thanks too. vf

No it doesn't. I wish it did though.

Hello, my husband passed away and now my furnace is down and I can't afford to fix it. So I purchased a Dura Heater. Thank you for the step by step instructions. I replaced my wick. Here's my problem...I replaced my wick cause ever since I bought it (took back 2 because it wouldn't shut off at all) I've been having a problem with not being able to get my flame high enough to be safe. The other 2 I took back had no problems with the flame height. It's been -25 with the windchill and it's my only source of heat. Tonight we are getting 12-18 inches of snow and I decided to change my wick due to unsafe low flame height. I did everything right (I thought I did) and my flame is still too low. Unsafe type of low. The flame height it suppose to be no lower than a 1/2 inch from the top of the burner, not including some peaks. I'm still having the same problem. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I have no one to help me. It's just me and my 11 year old dog. Children are grown and don't live local. I use to be a medic and know first hand what carbon monoxide does to people. Everything I read and watch is telling me that since my flame is too low, it releases carbon monoxide and not to use the heater. I'm freezing...buried with snow and can't get this thing to work correctly. Thank you for your time and any possible ideas to correct my problem...Marie

Yes, the initial lite puts off smoke and fumes. Also, if they're not set properly, they will smoke and stink. These things are not a set-it-and-forget-it solution. They require small adjustments during operation.

I had replaced the wick but the emergency shut off and tipping valve doesn't work? They are aligned with the holes but it will not retract in one push of a button? Any suggestions as to what I had done wrong?

The auto shut off and tip over protection activates via a spring, cog, and cog-wheel. The system has to be wound up in order to function. When you turn the control knob to raise the wick, that is also the winding action. There is a set screw on the shaft. You have to loosen it and adjust the rotation as needed to set the spring tension. Too much tension and you won't get a high enough flame; too little tension and it won't turn off via the button or tip over protection.

this would have been a much better video if you had turned your phone sideways

I agree 👍🏿. If you look at my other videos, I literally have hundreds, you'll see that holding my phone in this orientation isn't a typical thing. I really need a GoPro or some other dedicated camera.
