Durango & Silverton New Years Eve "Work Extra" Flanger OF 12/31/2021

D&S K36 #482, Flanger OF, and Caboose 0540. I caught up with the 7:00 AM departure of the "Work Extra" just north of Hermosa and again at Shalona Crossing. After a short stop at Rockwood and new orders the Extra departs to clear the tracks of several days of snow for the Cascade Canyon Express. Sorry I got ahead of myself with the date in the video clip. It should be 2021.

Wow what a beautiful video. It is beautiful to see but, I don't think I would like working in it. I loved the snow when I was young but, since I have gotten older, not so much. Thank you for putting this together for everyone to enjoy. Love watching your videos. Happy New Year!

Sure is great to know D&S completed 482's oil conversion before 2021 ended, I saw it this past summer when it was undergoing its conversion and I already know this engine will be seeing a lot of us for the 2022 steam season on D&S!

Sad but true, all the engines may be converted to burn oil.

Hi Anthony, I heard they just haven't had the time as it just got out of the oil conversion. The 481 has a plow and still burns coal. Must not have been available.
