I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Dr. White... Because of his book "The Forgotten Trinity," specifically, the portions that look at the Old Testament Passages that can refer only to Yahweh, and are used by the New Testament authors for Jesus, I was able to witness to Jehovah's Witnesses who came to my house on Saturday. I recently used his book to teach about a 4 week series on the Trinity, and so these passages were all fresh on my mind. During my encounter on Saturday, I began with John 1:1, explaining the Greek, and then went right into John 12 / Isiah 6 to show that Jesus is Yahweh. The older of the three Witnesses, who I'm guessing was the mother, said that she had NEVER heard of that before. I guess that someone else in the car saw what was happening during our 10-15 minute conversation, and so she yells at the mother from the car "you've got a phone call, we've got to go!" I thought to myself, now THAT'S a bailout if ever I saw one; they've GOT to be convicted, because I've never heard of a JW prioritizing a phone call over evangelism.

You're assuming the worst for no good reason. You don't actually know what was going on. For all you know they were expecting a phone call, had somewhere to be soon, or something else. Many Witnesses are spending their time preaching before they start their day working or running errands. Like you they only have a finite amount of time in the day. Even if you disagree with them it's good to develop the habit of not assuming the worst.

@@lawrencestanley8989 Even being there I'm don't think you can really know what someone else is thinking. But you're right, I wasn't there. I'd be really interested to know what you had to say about John 1:1. I think James White's explanation actually proves why the translation found in most Bible's is incorrect. Put simply, the last clause in Greek is a qualifying statement but in English, "the Word was God" is a statement of identity, not quality.

@@r.rodriguez4991 In Greek, the text reads, "and God was the word." Given that there is no definite article before the word "God," this statement assigns the divine quality to the Word.

Kwaku is smarter than the average Mormon but unfortunately his intelligence does not go far enough to allow him to see certain points which perhaps he has not noticed or thought deeply about. He presents himself as someone defending the existence of God but when I pointed out that God is the Subjective Ground of all Being, his return quip was "there is no such thing as a Subjective Ground of Being,it can only be objective." Is that not the position of an atheist ? Someone who only accepts material reality . He does not accept the God , whom Jesus described as Spirit, but like Mormon doctrine, he re-defines Spirit to be a type of subtle matter.

Okay, folks. "Persons" do not equate with "essence" (according to the video). However, according to divine simplicity, which is what many, if not most Christians affirm, the persons are the essence. The real distinction between persons and essence ("categories") works in composite beings. Thus, there is one human essence, but we are individuated in part by our distinct portions of matter (carbon, sodium, water, calcium, etc.). The matter itself isn't the human essence, and when we die, the matter that composes us will take another form. We are thus composites of essence and individual acts of existence. So, if the persons of the Godhead are distinct from the divine essence (P ≠ E), then it follows that in order for P to be G (God), then P must be G + something else which makes each P to be partly God and partly creature. On the other hand, if P is entirely in the essence of G so that no part of P is creaturely, then what individuates them? If it is the E itself, then E must be composite; that is, there is an aspect of E that is unique to each P which makes G composite by definition. Moreover, if E is one and undivided, then the very thing which makes each P common (that is, divine) cannot be the very thing which makes them distinct. How, then, can they be distinct? White here is illegitimately borrowing creaturely divisions and applying them to God without realizing that it either makes the persons creatures or it subdivides the Godhead.

Why is it ok for a christian to receice revelation but when a mormon does it "the devil deceiving them " according to you ? You are so good at analysing scripture so why dont u disect the bible and find the contradictions within itself . Idk if jeff is gonna spoil it or not but id point out God isnt the creator of evil but rather the declarer,he points out what is naturally sinful to him who is God and the one we are to glorify, federal headship contains this understanding,we were all in the loins of Adam when he disobeyed God and therefore we are inhabited by sin nature as it encompasses us,so God isnt the creator of evil,we are in a sense and more so the serpent, yes he was allowed in the garden but I hold to the this idea i call the eternal disspensation and it is the first time God is gonna seperate creation from himself and in order to due so has to be justified in the eyes of creation while simultaneously giving them the choice to choose him,but that doesnt exclude he is all knowing,we dont know how long lucifer was allowed to rebel before heaven and earth were created but we have evidence heaven and earth are timed based places and are not eternal, God is outside of even heaven, for they both shall be burned and were created in the confines of time to do away with evil,a new heaven and new earth will come and shall be eternally established without any need of judgement...time is so crucial...i could expand but this is deep enough 😂

@@DjSostre7 . Maybe you should do your research and ask more basic questions before jumping to conclusions. Haile Selassie means Might of the Trinity or the Mighty Trinity. He is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of Judah and Light of the world. He fulfilled Revelation 5 verse 5: " And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof." So I exalt and have faith in Yeheshuah AKA Iyesus Kristos (Jesus Christ) manifest on earth as His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie 1. His coronation Novemeber 2nd 1930, opened the times of Judgement, and He is the King of the lineage of David and Solomon, who is also a Judge. He is the only Head of State to address both the League of Nations and the United Nations and judged them as prophesied in Psalms 2: " Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion." So you see my authority is scripture from the O.T and the N.T. I can also bring out the Book of Enoch, which was preserved in Ethiopia. There is nothing about sexual relations in the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We do NOT believe God had sexual relations with the Virgin Mary. Brigham Young may have had that as his personal opinion. That is understandable at a time before cloning, artificial insemination, In vivo fertilization, and in vitro fertilization but he should have understood how the First human, Adam, was made from the dirt of the ground.

He that is of God heareth God’s words.: ye therefore hear them not because ye are not of God. One must be born again and have the Holy Spirit in order to guide them into all truth. When you don’t have that, you will end up the way 2 Timothy 3:7 describes. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. As long as Kwaku resists the truth he will be blinded by God and only become more and more confused until he submits to the truth of the Gospel and receives the free gift of salvation with an empty hand and is born again by the Spirit of God. “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:14‬...which he really ought to do soon after how many debates he has had before God gives him up to a reprobate mind...when you expose yourself to the truth over and over again in order to just reject it, you are heading down the reprobate road 90 degrees straight downhill on smooth ice...scary place to be

@@nathanielchristian3717 Question: "What does the Bible teach about the Trinity?" Answer: The most difficult thing about the Christian concept of the Trinity is that there is no way to perfectly and completely understand it. The Trinity is a concept that is impossible for any human being to fully understand, let alone explain. God is infinitely greater than we are; therefore, we should not expect to be able to fully understand Him. The Bible teaches that the Father is God, that Jesus is God, and that the Holy Spirit is God. The Bible also teaches that there is only one God. Though we can understand some facts about the relationship of the different Persons of the Trinity to one another, ultimately, it is incomprehensible to the human mind. However, this does not mean the Trinity is not true or that it is not based on the teachings of the Bible. The Trinity is one God existing in three Persons. Understand that this is not in any way suggesting three Gods. Keep in mind when studying this subject that the word “Trinity” is not found in Scripture. This is a term that is used to attempt to describe the triune God-three coexistent, co-eternal Persons who are God. Of real importance is that the concept represented by the word “Trinity” does exist in Scripture. The following is what God’s Word says about the Trinity: 1) There is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4; Galatians 3:20; 1 Timothy 2:5). 2) The Trinity consists of three Persons (Genesis 1:1, 26; 3:22; 11:7; Isaiah 6:8, 48:16, 61:1; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14). In Genesis 1:1, the Hebrew plural noun "Elohim" is used. In Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7 and Isaiah 6:8, the plural pronoun for “us” is used. The word "Elohim" and the pronoun “us” are plural forms, definitely referring in the Hebrew language to more than two. While this is not an explicit argument for the Trinity, it does denote the aspect of plurality in God. The Hebrew word for "God," "Elohim," definitely allows for the Trinity. In Isaiah 48:16 and 61:1, the Son is speaking while making reference to the Father and the Holy Spirit. Compare Isaiah 61:1 to Luke 4:14-19 to see that it is the Son speaking. Matthew 3:16-17 describes the event of Jesus' baptism. Seen in this passage is God the Holy Spirit descending on God the Son while God the Father proclaims His pleasure in the Son. Matthew 28:19 and 2 Corinthians 13:14 are examples of three distinct Persons in the Trinity. 3) The members of the Trinity are distinguished one from another in various passages. In the Old Testament, “LORD” is distinguished from “Lord” (Genesis 19:24; Hosea 1:4). The LORD has a Son (Psalm 2:7, 12; Proverbs 30:2-4). The Spirit is distinguished from the “LORD” (Numbers 27:18) and from “God” (Psalm 51:10-12). God the Son is distinguished from God the Father (Psalm 45:6-7; Hebrews 1:8-9). In the New Testament, Jesus speaks to the Father about sending a Helper, the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17). This shows that Jesus did not consider Himself to be the Father or the Holy Spirit. Consider also all the other times in the Gospels where Jesus speaks to the Father. Was He speaking to Himself? No. He spoke to another Person in the Trinity-the Father. 4) Each member of the Trinity is God. The Father is God (John 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Peter 1:2). The Son is God (John 1:1, 14; Romans 9:5; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 5:20). The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 3:16). 5) There is subordination within the Trinity. Scripture shows that the Holy Spirit is subordinate to the Father and the Son, and the Son is subordinate to the Father. This is an internal relationship and does not deny the deity of any Person of the Trinity. This is simply an area which our finite minds cannot understand concerning the infinite God. Concerning the Son see Luke 22:42, John 5:36, John 20:21, and 1 John 4:14. Concerning the Holy Spirit see John 14:16, 14:26, 15:26, 16:7, and especially John 16:13-14. 6) The individual members of the Trinity have different tasks. The Father is the ultimate source or cause of the universe (1 Corinthians 8:6; Revelation 4:11); divine revelation (Revelation 1:1); salvation (John 3:16-17); and Jesus' human works (John 5:17; 14:10). The Father initiates all of these things. The Son is the agent through whom the Father does the following works: the creation and maintenance of the universe (1 Corinthians 8:6; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16-17); divine revelation (John 1:1, 16:12-15; Matthew 11:27; Revelation 1:1); and salvation (2 Corinthians 5:19; Matthew 1:21; John 4:42). The Father does all these things through the Son, who functions as His agent. The Holy Spirit is the means by whom the Father does the following works: creation and maintenance of the universe (Genesis 1:2; Job 26:13; Psalm 104:30); divine revelation (John 16:12-15; Ephesians 3:5; 2 Peter 1:21); salvation (John 3:6; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:2); and Jesus' works (Isaiah 61:1; Acts 10:38). Thus, the Father does all these things by the power of the Holy Spirit. www.gotquestions.org/Trinity-Bible.html

How do you explain this from the early church fathers. “Origen said: ‘Jesus Christ, though he was in the form of God (Phil. 2.6), while still being distinct from God in whose form He was, was God before He came into the body: yes or no?’ “Heraclides said: ‘He was God before.’ “Origen said: ‘Was He God before He came into the body or not?’ “Heraclides said: ‘Yes, He was.’ “Origen said: ‘Was He God distinct from this God in whose form He was?’ “Heraclides said: ‘Obviously distinct from the other and, while being in the form of the other, distinct from the Creator of all.’ “Origen said: ‘Is it not true, then, that there was a God, the Son of God and only begotten of God, the first born of all creation (Col. 1.15), and that we do not hesitate to speak in one sense of two Gods, and in another sense of one God?’ “Heraclides said: ‘What you say is evident. But we too say that God is the almighty, God without beginning, without end, who encompasses all and is encompassed by nothing, and this Word is the Son of the living God, God and man, through whom all things were made, God according to the Spirit, and man from being born of Mary.’ “Origen said: ‘You don't seem to have answered my question. Explain what you mean, for perhaps I didn't follow you. The Father is God?’ “Heraclides said: ‘Of course.’ “Origen said: ‘The Son is distinct from the Father?’ “Heraclides said: ‘Of course, for how could He be son if He were also father?’ “Origen said: ‘And while being distinct from the Father, the Son is Himself also God?’ “Heraclides said: ‘He is Himself also God.’ “Origen said: ‘And the two Gods become a unity?’ “Heraclides said: ‘Yes.’ “Origen said: ‘We profess two Gods?’ “Heraclides said: ‘Yes, [but] the power is one.’ “Origen said: ‘But since our brothers are shocked at the statement that there are two Gods, we must treat this matter carefully, and point out in what respect they are two, and in what respect these two are one God. Now the holy Scriptures have taught many instances of two being one; and not just two, but in some cases they have taught us that more than two and even a great number are one. Our task here is not to take up this problem just to pass over it quickly but, for the sake of the more simple, to chew on it like meat and install the doctrine little by little in the ears of our hearers. There are, then, many things which are two that are said in the Scriptures to be one. What Scripture passages? Adam and his wife are distinct beings; Adam is distinct from his wife, and his wife is distinct from her husband. But it is said right in the creation account that the two are one: For the two shall become one flesh (Gen. 2.24; Matt. 19.5). It is thus possible at times for two to be one flesh. But note well that in the case of Adam and Eve it is not said that they will be two in one spirit, nor that they will be two in one soul, but that they will be two in one flesh. In addition, the just person, while distinct from Christ, is said by the Apostle to be one in relation to Christ: For whoever is united to the Lord is one spirit with him (1 Cor. 6.17). But is not one of these of a lower or diminished and inferior nature, while Christ is of a more divine and glorious and blessed nature? Are they therefore no longer two? Yes, for the man and the woman are no longer two but one flesh (Matt. 19.6), and the just person and Christ are ‘one spirit.’ Thus, our Savior and Lord, in relation to the Father and God of all, is not one flesh and one spirit, but something that is above both flesh and spirit, one God. For when human beings are joined to each other, the appropriate word is ‘flesh,’ and when a just person is united to Christ, the word is ‘spirit,’ and when Christ is united to the Father, the word is not ‘flesh’ or ‘spirit,’ but the more prestigious word: ‘God.’ That is why we understand I and the Father are one (John 10.30) in this sense. In some of our prayers we maintain the duality and in others we introduce the unity, and thus we do not fall into the opinion of those who, cut off from the Church, have fallen prey to the illusory notion of unicity, abrogating the Son as distinct from the Father and also, in effect, abrogating the Father; nor do we fall into the other impious doctrine which denies the divinity of Christ. What, then, is the meaning of such sacred texts as: Before me no other god was formed, nor shall there be any other after me (Isa. 43.10), and the text: I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me (Deut. 32.39)? In these texts, one is not to think that the unity refers to the God of the universe in his purity (as the heretics would say) apart from Christ, nor that it refers to Christ apart from God; but we say that it is just as Jesus expresses it: I and the Father are one (John 10.30).’” (Origen, ca. 246, ‘Dialogue with Heraclides’ 1-4, in ‘Ancient Christian Writers’ 54:58-60)

Here is the creed: "We worship one God in trinity and the trinity in unity neither blending their persons or dividing their essence." Lets play a game called comprehension. Simply replace all the main words with their definitions so that the sentence makes sense on some level. 1) How does one worship "one God in trinity"? Does trinity just mean three in this case, or does it mean something more? 2) What does "worship" mean? Just that you sing songs about the trinity, or do they actually pray to a trinity? Or are they saying that they pray to each member of the trinity. Does the trinity have members? 3) What does blending mean? Does each person have their own unique qualities? But if you refer to them as "one", then "one" what? One God? So when I pray to God, each person gets a copy of the prayer? What does it mean that three people are one god? Can four people be one god? Or five? 4) What is a person? A human being regarded as an individual? That is the definition according to Google's dictionary. So is God a quorum of three individual human beings? How is that different than Mormonism? 5) What does it mean to divide their essense? According to the dictionary, "essence" means intrinsic nature. What is their intrinsic nature? That they are three individuals? That they are made from organs and tissues? Here is the "Mormon" creed: "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and his his son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost." There is no attempt whatsoever to mold them to the pagan trinity concept.

@@robertrosskopf4641 3 seperate rocks would he 3 seperate beings. This is easy to understand, most of the time when people dont its usually because they dont want to. 1. Means we worship that is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 2. Worship means worship. Its not some unique trinitarian concept. You know what it means. 3. Theres no blending between the persons. Which means 100% the father is the father and not the son nor the spirit. Do that which each person. Also I take it youve never read the parts in the bible about Jesus making intercession for his people. 4. God is not a human. Scripture is abundantly clear on this numbers 23:19. Thats what the mormon church has taught. Not us. When we say God has person it means hes not just an indifferent, unfeeling impersonal force. If that was the case he would have BEING but not PERSON. Like electricity. Electricity has being but not person. It doesnt care about anything going on around it. 5. We dont divide the essence. Essence is basically being. Oh trinity is pagan? The trinity is monotheistic. We see the concept of the trinity throughout the bible. Whats really pagan here is the mormon view of God. That he become God and was once an exalted man whos just having sex making spirit babies and anyone can become God. THATS PAGAN.

@@danielomitted1867 "All the ancient nations believed in the Trinity’ " - St. Jerome These were pagan nations. The one nation that didn't believe in a trinity was the Hebrew nation. In Egypt, the trinity was Horus, Isis and Osiris. In Sumeria it was Anu, Enlil and Ea. “The ancient Babylonians recognised the doctrine of a trinity, or three persons in one god-as appears from a composite god with three heads forming part of their mythology, and the use of the equilateral triangle, also, as an emblem of such trinity in unity” (Thomas Dennis Rock, The Mystical Woman and the Cities of the Nations, 1867, pp. 22-23). "‘O ye three Lords! know that I recognize only one God. Inform me, therefore, which of you is the true divinity, that I may address to him alone my adorations.’ The three gods, Brahma, Vishnu, and Siva [or Shiva], becoming manifest to him, replied, ‘Learn, O devotee, that there is no real distinction between us. " - Hindoo bible But the real problem with the Trinity is not it's pagan origin, but the philosophy behind it. Consubstantiation is the idea that God isn't made of regular matter but some sort of special God-matter. Transubstantiation is the idea that when one partakes of the eucharist, the bread and wine transform into this god-matter. The other problem with the Trinity, is that Jesus becomes "son" in title only, since he and his father are eternal and unchanging. One might ask why the Holy Ghost doesn't have this title as well. So "son" doesn't mean son, and "father" doesn't mean father. It is basically an example of men inventing things, because they can't receive revelation from God.

Many people today understand the church as a building. This is not a biblical understanding of the church. The word “church” is a translation of the Greek word ekklesia, which is defined as “an assembly” or “called-out ones.” The root meaning of church is not that of a building, but of people. It is ironic that when you ask people what church they attend, they usually identify a building. Romans 16:5 says, “Greet the church that is in their house.” Paul refers to the church in their house-not a church building, but a body of believers. The church is the body of Christ, of which He is the head. Ephesians 1:22-23 says, “And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” The body of Christ is made up of all believers in Jesus Christ from the day of Pentecost (Acts 2) until Christ’s return. Biblically, we may regard the church in two ways, as the universal church or as the local church. www.gotquestions.org/what-is-the-church.html

Notwithstanding they believed in a Great Spirit, they supposed that whatsoever they did was right; nevertheless, Lamoni began to fear exceedingly, with fear lest he had done wrong in slaying his servants;" Yes, that is correct. The Savior ministered premortally as Jehovah until his birth. He was the Spirit Jehovah until his birth 2019 years ago. Exodus 6:1 "Then the Lord said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land. 2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the Lord: 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
