You're comparing apples to oranges. First of all that is not even a real off-road course you can do that road with most normal cars. Secondly the Grand Vitara used here is not standard it has aftermarket rims and road tyres which lower its grip and by the looks of it the ride height as well along with that side step that would make it worse. The Duster will never go where the Grand Vitara can go if you take them both to a proper 4x4 test. Grand Vitara has proper 4x4 with low range and has a rugged unibody+ladder frame hybrid chassis. Duster cannot compete with it, I'm not saying the Duster is bad but please stop trying to make them seem equal when they are not!

@@GeorgeAvg-RB26 It is good for it's class, but it's not in the same class as the Grand Vitara. I have been on many 4x4 trails in South Africa and the Grand Vitara can go places where no crossover can go. We have the duster here but with Renault badging, it's a good crossover and can handle light trails but it is not in the same league, the Grand Vitara is built solid and has low range which makes a big difference.

@@EugeneNaidoo lmao both are shit for hardcore offroading in stock form if you want real off roading in stock form buy a nissan patrol or a Navara a suzuki samurai is very good too

@@GeorgeAvg-RB26 Nobody said they are for hardcore off-roading, I drive a Pajero but I have seen the Grand Vitara on many trails that other crossovers cannot do. The GV's main weakness is it's low ground clearance but that is easy to fix, most people here do raise it by 40mm and install underbody protection and then it can go almost anywhere any other typical 4x4 will go.

Am luat Grand Vitara JT din 2 motive: reductor si Duster ar fi fost de 4-5 ori mai scump (4.500 Suzuki 2.0 benzina vs 18000 Duster 1.3 tce) . In plus, ustura mai tare sa bagi o masina mai scumpa si mai noua in padure.

I have a 2.4 petrol 5 door 2014 Grand Vitara JT. Bought it 5 years ago, so far it's been 100% reliable. Very good underrated suv. Almost silent when running. The diesel version isn't as good, the 1.9 Renault engine is it's weak spot. Any older diesel models that give engine problems usually get scrapped. Petrols seem to run forever.

I have the 2006 Grand Vitara 2.7lt V6. It has 302000 km on it and it runs like a new vehicle. I'm sure I could do Everest in that car. Suzuki gets real respect for it's offroad ability here in Australia where there is some properly very difficult and varied terrain. Seen here as a rival for the legendary Toyota Landcruiser but a bit smaller. I'm not sure why they are comparing these two vehicles; they are worlds apart in ability.

Dar un traseu mai normal, cu ceva denivelari, sa ii ramana la vitara pragul ala odios pe-acolo sau mai bine, sa se rupa dintr-o parte si sa stea o ora sa-l desfaca pentru a putea continua, nu ati gasit? Singura denivelare mai serioasa pare varful de rampa de la 5:56.. Nu am inteles si nu voi intelege niciodata rostul pragurilor in offroad, nu fac altceva decat sa manance din garda la sol.

Duster nie umywa się przy vitara. Ale te progi to ściągnij bo wiocha straszna. I jeździcie po zwykłych drogach Posiadam vitare 2,4l daje radę w Cięższym terenie. A Dacia to typowy suv.

Good comparison. It seems that both cars did fine in this light off-road terrain. Will the Duster win in a more "hardcore off-road scenario"?

It’s hard to say, the vitara is heavier but has the low gear mode, the duster is lighter, has better angles for the front and rear bumpers but no low gear so I can’t tell for sure 😁

That Grand Vitara's abilities are far beyond those of the Dacia. It's ground clearance is compromised by the silly side steps and it looks like the suspension has been lowered. Here, in Australia, a standard GV sits higher and has the spare tyre mounted on the rear door. Even so, revving the crap out the engine isn't required because it's a proper offroad vehicle and has low-range 4wd. Even on road tyres my 2006 2.7lt V6 Grand Vitara goes anywhere with ease, including much rougher terrain than in this test. Really, didn't they have access to any properly rough terrain?

@@damiencosgrove7487 Have you ever tried the Dacia, or are you just guessing? I've seen the Dacia perform on par with e.g. a Suzuki Jimny, which is a more capable off-road vehicle than the Vitara.

@@xxxlmarius15 ,eu am poza de profil cu mine , sunt chiar inginer auto , am chiar si mașina, mașinii, am testat noul duster si am ramas dezamăgit ...il vroiam datorita reclamelor false si ma gândeam ca e masina noua dar la 25000 €mai bine una sh, am si sh, am si noua stiu de vorbesc , daca va place sa va cumpărați dv
