Gaethje can't grapple to save his life. We saw what happened with Khabib & Oliveira... Recency bias is a real problem in our society. Gaethje took the fight with Holloway. Nobody forced him into that fight. He had a guaranteed title shot and decided to take another route... Two fights ago, Volkanovski was considered a two weight world champion. Now, Topuria is THE MAN to beat Makhachev. Two fights ago, Oliveira was back ! And i mean, the REAL Oliveira...And now ? Well ! He pulled out of the rematch with Islam and his team blamed it on Islam for not wanting to fight the brazilian... Typical ! This russian guy can't win outside of the UFC's octagon. It seems like everything that went wrong these last few months is his fault; Last time i checked, Oliveira was the one pulling out. Personally I think Dustin should fight Gamrot, winner of that gets a title shot. Everyone is saying that Islam has no one to fight at the moment but I would wait for the either Justin if he beats max or the winner of arman vs Charles. BUT I will say, it would be cool to see Islam and khabib share an opponent. See is Islam can beat DP quicker and more dominate than khabib did. Just for comparison, which I know doesn’t work considering DP is much older now but we can forget that.

@@mo8969Gamrot looked like s***against an old, deflated Dos Anjos. If Gamrot doesn't work on his striking, Makhachev will play with him, keep him at distance and jab his face the whole night. Plus, Gamrot is a one-dimensional grappler. His wrestling is only used to score points. He can't get anything going when he fights a guy competent enough to nullify his wrestling game in the open. He's basically a bum version of Khabib, in that regard... He fought tooth and nails with Tsarukyan and Turner...I don't see him outwrestling Makhachev, let alone outworking him in the clinch repeatedly. An when it comes to striking ,they're in two separate dimensions. Makhachev is bigger, he's the better MMA grappler, he's the way better striker, he's more diversed with his attacks...I mean, how in the hell is Gamrot supposed to win against Makhachev ? Never count Dustin out of any fight. He learned a lot fighting Khabib, and is a very durable fighter. Islam likes to strike, and will try and test himself against Dustin, but when Dustin gets in the pocket, I think Islam will take him down and finish him. It is a great matchup because anything can happen!

DC let me ask you this but I’m sure you won’t see this or answer me when I look back at fighting to me I think Khabib was a much more dominant fighter and better fighter than Islam but then I hear people like Tim Welch and Sean O’Malley and they say that Islam has just as good of grappling i.e. wrestling and Sambo plus he has judo and his striking is better. What is everybody else think maybe I just need to see Islam fight more as he had a lot of fight yet

I'll be honest is my opinion and say that yes I think they should go ahead and let Dustin poirier vs Islam for the 155 title and then here's my question what if now let's say what if Dustin poirier beats Islam does Islam get the immediate rematch or does he have to fight someone elks and work his way back to the championship I would think Dana would give him the immediate rematch but you never know I mean it has happened that's all I'm saying but I don't think Islam is better than khabib I think he's better at stand up but as far as the ground and pound and all that he's very good very very good don't get me wrong I'm not taking anything away from the guy but I am saying khabib versus Islam khabib would win that fight I would have to say add a 10 9 out of 10

I'm rooting for islam but arman is number 1 in LW rn after the champ. His only recent losses were razor thin loss to decisions against Islam and Gamrot. And the gamrot fight could've been a draw. And he was like only like 22/23 coming off the couch short notice against Islam when the real opponent had to pull out
