What a classic... & still blows me away that Max has NEVER been dropped. Especially after that last one vs. Volk. Dude is superhuman lol. Gonna have hella CTE... but superhuman in his own way as well lol.

The fact that he doesn't do any hard sparring probably helps him budget the damage a lot. Most guys are getting CTE not just from fighting but in hard sparring day after day... so he's got a bit of a buffer there, at least, I hope.

49-46 is kind of a crazy score. Dustin easily one the first 2 rounds without a doubt due to damage but I personally could see an argument for max in each of the last 3 rounds. Especially 3 and 4 with 5 being super close. Still classic fight though.

in terms of numbers it was close especially since max outlanded dustin total (i think?) but the damage discrepancy was apparent

@p_ttown1979 I would argue most damage occurred in rounds 1 and 2 and I think an argument could be made for a 10-8 round 1 but the damage throughout the rest of the fight wasn't too much in my opinion. IMO max outstruck Dustin in rounds 3 and 4 with 5 being super close. I cant score a win for dustin in 4 just because of a cut off a glancing knee .In round 5 Dustin landed a couple a hard jabs and a couple hard counter straights but I though max was more active and pushing the pace with more frequent clean strikes landed in what I perceived to be a 2-2 fight. Scoring the fight as a whole Dustin's damage was definitely overwhelming but going by round I think it was super close with most of the damage being dealt in rounds 1 and 2 without an official knockdown. But they are both warriors so great performance by both guys and neither guy matched up great against Khabib so I guess the result probably would have been the same regardless.

Numbers were close sure but just look at their faces at the end of the fight bro. Dustin won 1 and 2 easily, rest were pretty close but the knee in 4 gives him the round imo

max's refusal to become discouraged was impressive as well as both opponent's abilities to catch one another off guard.

That cutman 100 saved this classic from being stopped because that cut was Knarly. He slapped that gauze on there faster than a fly on poop to block it from the doc.

I would have honestly said that the last 3 rounds were Max's on points, but it would have been a shame if Dustin didn't win that after that performance.

I agree Dustin's first 2 rounds were beautiful and he dealt a bunch of damage but I agree with Max probably winning the last 3 off points. Dustin definitely emptied the tank at the end of round 2 trying to get max out of there.

@@jjreynolds0923 those two major rounds are why he won. Who had the power and who caused the most damage? 90% of strikes from Max did not even touch Dustin because Dustin blocks with his arms and elbows.

Max is arguably the best fighter in MMA not because of his wins or losses but because he really is the 5 round man. He ALWAYS goes the distance against the best fighters within his weight limits

This was a close fight as well, but the difference in dustin's shots and max's is palpable, dustin looks like he hurts max bad whenever he lands, but dustin dont look hurt at all from max's shots, i think that's was a big factor in why he got the win Damage counted first

Dustin at times did at times look hurt so I don’t fully agree, but Dustin more than anything looked exhausted to me, he blew his wad in those first two rounds which definitely made the next three very close. I’d still give it to Dustin though.

Personally I feel like it could’ve went either way, max controlled and outstruck rounds 3, 4, &5 but then again the damage difference is obvious. 49-46 on all 3 is crazy to me

Had the awesome pleasure of seeing this live in Atlanta. Adesanya vs. Gastelum was the fight before this, too. And making our way into the stadium, grabbing a bite to eat beforehand, got to say what up to Daniel Cormier on the street as he rode by us on an electric scooter haha. Fun night.

Dustin really improved through experience. He's been through wars.. Max and Dustin are great fighters. Max needs better defense he takes too much damage.

I think in a way that’s his game plan. He’s a dog that knows he’ll be able to take the damage and you won’t and on top of it he doesn’t get tired so he rlly piles it on in the later rounds when fighters get tired and exhausted with the pace

@@Down-Fall_ I agree. I think he takes shots to give shots. He can do that because he has a chin and he's durable. But he's been fighting for years. I worry fighting that way will impact his brain in the long run. So it's important for fighters to protect themselves. The head can only take so much.

Yall holloway fans delusional. Dustin was slipping most of maxes punches, even if they landed they looked very insignificant. It was really maxs cardio and output vs dustins ko headshots. 3 slipped punches < 1 good timed perfectly headshot.

Max 3,4 and 5. I don't know what the judges saw. Bet they were on their cellphones. Dustin was looking for the take down that's a signal that he couldn't put up with the exchange.

@@Ch4rlz_ThA_Princ3 oh man you don't honestly think they take more brain damage in BKFC do you? Do a little research and you will be surprised, the bigger the gloves the more brain damage. It accumulates much more in boxing and more in MMA than bare knuckle. The visible damage and scarring is much worse but the fights are shorter, they take less shots and do very minimal sparring in camp. Thanks for stopping by though 👋🏻

Everytime max started advancing forward and trying to open up Dustin was countering him with the left cross or the right hook and he was fuckin scrambling max everytime he touched his head! Also if Dustin is manhandling you on the cage......this definitely ain't ever gonna be "maxs" division.....that commentary aged like milk 😂
