The wedding cake story was SO nta lmaooo, OP said one sentence and his brother GENUINELY thought that somehow the OP had managed to actually shit in or on the cake when it was being made. And when my son was little, if I was going to leave him with someone, I had to be sure to leave them a letter stating specifically that they could sign for necessary medical tests in case of an accident. So I’m pretty sure if the DNA mom wanted to go after the mother-in-law, she definitely could

With the proposal story, it may not have been the tone, it may have been the frequency of her comments, she said that they had been talking about it for a while and if she is telling him the same stuff over and over or constantly adding to the "don't" list then maybe he is feeling like she is trying to dictate everything. They may have different ideas of how they want the proposal to go, and he's trying to find a middle ground and feels like he's not being given any room to work with. I feel like both are at an asscon4 there is clearly a bit of communication being missed

In regards to the guy snapping at his girlfriend regarding the proposal, I think, from the way she words it, that she had mentioned more than a few times about how to propose and what she did and did want. "I've already told him about it several times" was one of the statements. And they've been discussing it for 2years then it makes me wonder how many times she may have reiterated her concerns. Possibly the boyfriends remark about it's his proposal too may be due to, yes he already had something planned and although it's for her, if she proceeds to complain about something he put so much effort into, it would definitely be disheartening. Maybe her constant remarks made him feel that she thought him inadequate and unable to organise by himself. I agree he should have definitely handled that differently though 😂

Story #2 needs to get rid of her AH boyfriend and his herd of heifers. Ex-MIL DNA-- Sounds like my MIL. No kidding. Even though my kids all look like a pretty even mix of my husband and I, though my son looks a whole lot like my little brother (who has sadly passed away). She is always after us to do DNA testing (Ancestry, 23&me, etc) and claims "wanting to know for genealogy purposes" since she's a Mormon 🙄

My oldest was 6w early and 5lb 7oz, my youngest was 7w early and 4lb 4oz. I can't imagine having a 7lb baby early!

with the daughter baking the wedding cake story, it definitely seems like the mother is in the wrong for asking her daughter prior to discussing the idea with her fiance. Whether or not the fiance is in the wrong for how he reacted is its own discussion, but it came across as him being caught off-guard, assuming they would have a professionally-made cake, and then discovering that his fiance went behind his back and asked a child to make it instead. I'm not saying the mother intentionally asked her daughter before discussing it with him to make sure things go the way she'd like because who would have the heart to tell that kid no at this point? But I am saying that it's a possibility that she knew what she was doing there and is prioritizing having a "cute wedding moment" over her fiance, and using his disappointment that their wedding cake will be made by a literal child instead of a professional as a way of portraying the story as "look at my mean fiance who hates children and hates my kid's baking :(" (edit-- originally wrote husband instead of fiance)
